FYI - The acemod.net domain appears to have been expired and/or taken by a cyber-squatter. I just noticed that the Armaholic pages still link to the old site instead of http://dev-heaven.net/projects/show/ace-mod.

I have a few questions about this mod:
1. How do you apply bandages?
2. Why my binoculars dont go in zoomed view but instead they just obstruct my view?

3. Why when commanding vehicle or flying as a pilot i cant change weapon for my gunner?
4. Is there any servers which support this mod?

1. Use the actions menu (scroll wheel or enter key ) to access the bandage option. Note you have to crouch to help teammates with medical issues and be nearby them. If you are badly injured you might not be able to self-treat.

2. You have to use the optics option ala a scope. Typical keybind is the "v" key.

3. Use the 'f' key to order a weapons change. In some cases you need to select the gunner first.

4. Yes. Plenty of servers run ACE missions. Both with the 1.14 and 1.16 patch levels for ArmA.

I am fear.

Thanks evil_echo that was helpful.
Just one thing about weapons change. It works when i hold down spacebar but what happens is when i fly in AH-1 I select hellfire missiles, lock on to target, order my gunner to fire and the missile just goes in a straight line,it doesnt guide itself to the target.
But when i fly cobra with hellfires only then everything works normal and i can switch between missiles and cannon with default F key.

Sounds like the gunner did not lock on. Did you try the target action from the command menu? Not sure about this one, I rarely fly the Apache with an AI partner.

Yes, looks like everything works when i select the gunner.
I guess this mod was made with multiplayer in mind and its not very practical to give targets to a AI gunner via command menu.

Are you certain that you started your ArmA game with the ACE mod? If not, the ACE units won't appear in the editor. Also, in recent releases the ACE content started using the "Æ" prefix (looks like a stylized, capital AE) instead of "ACE".

Hope that helps!

Make sure you installed ACE in the right folder and that your shortcut is the same as the file name.

You really should patch ArmA up to 1.14 if you want to use ACE.

ACE should autoinstall into it's own folder in the modfolder style. So be sure to include -mod=@ACE on your startup or better yet use one the the ArmA launchers to manage your mods for you.

[edit]
oxy_moron:

ACE is aimed more at multiplayer. You can use it for solo, but some of the SP missions that come with ArmA are not totally compatible with ACE - the helo missions in particular don't like ACE's vehicle startup sequence. So do concider either crafting your own SP missions or getting ones that are ACE-compatable from sites like this one.

There is a class description file available on the main ACE site. It does have gaps though. The devs know about that and are hoping to come up with a way to automate the generation of this file during the mod build so it is more complete, up-to-date.

You could park an ammo truck near the ZU to resupply it, would be quite realistic that way.

If neither of those work, let me know and I'll dig for ya. :)

Yes i noticed about the vehicle startup procedure. Here is what happens
I start a mission, board the ah-1 and i get mission failed message every time i try to start the engines and there is no way to complete that mission without flying in a helo.
Is there any fix for this? I have arma patched up to 1.14 and ACE 1.09
