Hey Evil_Echo

I have a minor ACE problem here, I used to be able to Deploy bipods, rest weapons and adjust aim rang but now I cannot. All the commands that require you to hold "Shift" no longer work. I set all the controls back to default and made sure the ACE keys file was still in the right folder (unmodified) but no change....do you know why this might happen?

Ouch. Sorry that has happened to you.

It might be an issue with keybinds at the game level itself. Make a copy of your ArmA profile and then delete the existing one so ArmA makes a new one from scratch.

Otherwise - the question would be - what did you change recently between when it last worked and when it started failing. Any other modules added or updated? Config changes?

:)Hmm, reinstalled Ace and the patch and now it works fine, my RPGs go sailing over enemy tanks because I forget to adjust LOL. I think I broke while messing with some files, I was tring to add Sonic Cracks from HiFi NA sound mod to Ace without losing any of the VOPs ACE sound.....didnt work...Oh well :)

Thanks Echo, I have another quick question, and I know I may be getting in over my head here...... How does one modify an Arma Vehicles Damage or Hitpoint vaules? I aske because I do use 3rd party gun and tank mods in addition to ACE. I want to edit some of the 3rd party vehicles to get them up to ACE standards so they dont get totaly blown away. I havent found anything about this in the other forums, but I don't really know what search terms to use.... Can you offer any advise?

You'd need to take apart the pbo file of that addon, change the configuration files for those items and create a new pbo.

The tools to do so are free, available on this site. The bundle from keygetsys is good. Also a good text editor.

For info on configuration files, I'd search the BI wiki. There are a number of articles about the various configuration classes out there.

If it sounds like a lot of work for a novice, it is. Naturally the new pbo would not match any signed key that comes with the original so could not be used on most public servers unless you did more even more work to make a legimate signed version. Also if you wanted to distribute you should contact the original authors for their blessings.

Where can I find or what PBO do I need to extract to find a list/guide for ACE weapons?
(or do I simply ad ACE_ in front of the standard name?)

Most weapons are documented in a spreadsheet included with ACE. Check the installed folder for that. There were some that never made it in ACE1 docs, we're hoping for better in ACE2.

If not one of those, best ask me for what you're looking for. It's spread out internally depending on feature - I can find it faster for you.

That would be ACE_M79, should be able to use one the stock ACE ammo crates for the 40mm grenades, plus the HuntIR stuff.

I ve heard that ACE2 will stay focused in US/RU weapons.
Maybe you know about any plans of the "team" to release a "European weps" pack??
(like G3 scoped or FAMAS or STEYR..or..or..)

We're focused on initial release of ACE2 right now. So cannot talk much about plans for any expansion packs.

Hey Evil_Echo,

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, I have a quick question about Ace, is there a way to get AI AT soldiers to fire their rockets (RPGs LAWs AT4s etc)at infantry like they did in vanilla? Now that Ace has added so many new ammo types for the launchers it would be nice to have some thermobaric RPGs flying around. Right now I'm using the "invisable armored target" object to get the AI to shoot at buildings, is there a way do this with moving targets?

Also, is there a bug with the firing sound of the M113 VADS? I sounds like it get stuck on the "warm up" sound effect, without an "fireing" sound affect ever kickin in....

Hello guys,

I am just starting to have some fun with ACE, but I am a little puzzled on how to use the heavy weapon carriers, such as the M2 Machinegun carrier. I know that thing is way too heavy weighting about 38kg, but I can barely move 100m at a walking pace and my soldier is starting to pass out from exhaustion.

How do you guys use these units? Do you transport them to the deployment location? I was thinking of doing that, but then again all the idea with the mobility is gone.

I'd be very glad if someone could give some insight into it. =)

EDIT:Just another quick question. I was looking for some documentation on the extra features from ACE, but all the links that come with mod appear to be dead. Does anyone have a link to some reading material where I could learn more about this mod?
