Mailman653 : unfortunate the ingame voice feature? whatever its called still seems busted, unless the server has to enable it some how.

Yes, in the server config there is an option to disable the communication channel.
Our servers have it disabled as well.

Terrible, am i glad this is called beta because it brought more bad than good.

The game runs much worse for me, got that infamous LOD/texture bug while flying over north Sahrani for the first time on this system.
The game looks much worse, lighting seems diferent, trees look more like OPF over distance, shadows on high no longer work...

I didnt spend alot of time with it because i was horrified, found some small fixes/tweaks but just had to put 1.5 beta back in.

The GL leaf sight really sucks... i've read the patch made the game better for older spec PC's but screwed up lots of 8800 users :|.

Im not running this version and im praying for the final version to be much better.

How do you enable or disable it?

disableVoN=1;

This will disable it, set it to 0 (zero) to enable voice over network.

@Heatseeker, does it look like this for you as well?
Its not a picture I made, but its a picture from Exaercase who posted it in the BI forums.

Left side is how it was with 1.05 (the lower left pic has more fog cause the mission maker added that), on the right we can see how it looks in game with the 1.07 beta patch :(

I havent had time to test/tweak anything more but it sure looks as if all with 8800's are &^%$#&*
:(

No, that picture is not a good comparison, it shows diferent pictures with diferent settings.

In 1.7b the lighting seems diferent, tree LOD's look worse with wrong lighting, just check around Somato.
Game runs alot worse, i checked in the northern forests and noticed bad performance while it runs smoothly with 1.5b.
Shadows dont even work above normal..

LOD/texture bugs while flying in the North, first time i experience this on this system :((.

Half assed fixes... the M203 leaf site is terrible, its up all the time, it blocks the ironsight on the M16 and its not adjustable i would rather not have it at all.
The "view" (V) on the turned out MBT MG comander position is a poor/quick fix imo.

Im sure there are many small fixes (i checked the log) but this patch is unplayable/useless to me.
I understand its beta though... but so was 1.5b wich i've been using for a very long time now.

Ooh there was one problem a few of are having with it Night Vision WHOT A UCKING pain that is. Ok realistic well i beleave some things should not be realistic due to Arma being a GAME.

I dont like 1.07

@Heatseeker, I know its not a good comparisson picture, but of what is been shown on the right...........thats how my 1.07 arma looks as well..........and if not like that its even worse.
Have a look at this :(

Also the loading times are really bad.
It takes 2 minutes to just load the game, loading a mission is equal or longer. Even if that mission was loaded already.
The game "halts" often when I press escape and also when I quit missions and want to go somewhere else (options/editor etc etc). This forces my to "alt tab" out and force the game to end.

I had planned to install the latest nvidia drivers (158.22), I am currently using 158.19 but I wont even bother. It crashes so much I cant test anything or I would have to end/start arma the whole time.........I have better things to do.

:(
I hope BIS can get things sorted with us 8800 users. Other than my graphical errors I like what they have done. I like all the colors and the font changes.

Luckly i didn't encountered that bad mix of lod and texture issues here, but it was close..very close at times. I agree and so do all 99% other 8800 users this patch brakes more then it fixes. No preformence gain even the games run as it is on lowlowlow again. Introduced some new bugs afaik...

No thank you, although i was before the 1.07 on a beta (1.05b), i'm rolling back to that one.
They might of fixed the 'white fog' issue for us 8800 users (as i didn't noticed it that good, but noticed the difference after rolling back to 1.05b). but no way i will 'test' this beta. Like others i have better things to do.

Sad to see it fixes a lot of problems (mainly performence) for all non 8800 users. Hope BIS gets a crate of 8800s in Prague soon and feel what we feel.

Sillently runs away hoping one day we will laugh about this lego mod of BIS :d.

Yeah, I'm sticking with 1.5 for now too, that patch totally screwed up my comp. It took me 2 days to get back on to it, so I was just a little pissed. :D

Ok, I have now tried the new 1.07 beta + hotfix patches.
I am happy they at least fixed the problems I showed earlier. I have been running around (MP as well as SP) for a while today and I must say it runs pretty smooth now.
I dont have any lod/texture loading problems anymore.

However, it has not increased performance, I am using arma with the same settings as I had before for online play (a mixture of high and normal settings).
I am going to install the latest Nvidia drivers (certified, not the beta) to see if I can gain some performance there.

I think with the patch BIS is really doing well, I like all the small changes they have made, specially the colors and the fonts :yes.

Will be back with an update after I have installed the new Nvidia drivers.

Btw, just so our *El nino* team knows..........no, we wont change the server to 1.07 now.
To many missions are bugged with that version as well I have at least been told :)
