Thanks man! And thanks for stating that, I mean What I love about you guys is how so many other games release a trailor then mysteriously a week before it comes out they say the date.

You guys actually answer questions from the community Thanks VERY much.
No doubt this will be an excellent game.

Hi !

I read alot about the authentic weapon simulation (bullet ballistics etc) and I'm wondering if people will finally be able to adjust the sights of sniper-rifles to a certain distance or if you will at least have the possibility to measure the distance to a target.

To do a long distance shot in ArmA you had to aim ridiculously high in the air and a good shot was just about being lucky.

So do you know if this time it will be better ?

Thanks

Great News! The new release date is awesome!

While this news is good, so many of us would still like to see the questions about the US release answered, if possible, even if your answer is that you don't know. The new release date actually makes this question even more pressing. Any info you can provide would be awesome.

Thank you.

Dan, maybe you should do this on Gamespot, also. Unless that's too much to do. I'd understand if it was. But the more Arma 2 gets publicized, the more money you get.

Stimpak_Addict : But the more Arma 2 gets publicized, the more money you get.

I agree with stimpak, one of the major reasons why halo became so popular so fast is because. Microsoft spammed television commercials with halo adds. If 505 games would spend a little extra on American advertisement. Arma2 will really become the next big hit away from the COD series. I have personally talked to many people who play military games and mentioned how amazing the BIS games have been ( ofp, arma ) and every time I try to put the word out of what these games are. Every person has stated "I've never heard of it". Which stronger advisement efforts would convert a large margin of American gamers from COD to Arma2.

but that is easier said then done

my take on why such a great series hasn't become more known to the general public.

Look before you Leep

check out the www.Cruciblegaming.com servers in Arma1/Arma2 for top of the line servers and low ping internet connections with all of the best maps to date. Crucible is also looking for clans to join our community of clans to help take part in events and a fun environment.

Yes. I asked some employees at Gamestop if he knew about Arma 2, and he was clueless. If you get the word out to Gamestop, too, they'll have it broadcasted on their little TV thing in their stores. Or whoever does that TV show. Maybe it's Gametrailers. I don't know. Gamestop is a huge video game distributor. Gamespot is huge video game site. Gametrailers is another huge video game site. X-play on G4 is the self-acclaimed most watched video game show. Try to get in on an interview with X-play at least. If you get these guys to talk about Arma 2, you'll get many more sales. All you really have to do to attract casual gamers is show them the amazing graphics and things exploding with a lot of units on-screen, and they're sold. Eventually, BIS will overcome Rockstar's position in making open-world games. People will ask "What's Grand Theft Auto?". Then, you can be on your way to world domination. Oh, yes! Wait... I've given you too much information.

Thanks for your questions on the US release date. 505 games are not distributing in the US so unfortunately I don't have that information. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

Don't forget to check back today between 12:00 - 15:00 for a live Twitter feed from the ArmA II showcase event in London!

Hey dan_n, 2 more questions for you...
Did NewMediaMaze have anything to do with organizing or promoting the Showcase event?
Did you ever really intend on answering or submitting our questions?

A little more friendly tone would be very much appreciated.
I can easily answer the questions you ask.

1. Yes, how do you think we (Rock and me) got there?
2. Unless you want himself to just make up some answers you will have to wait till the dev reply to his message.
Maybe you havent followed the news lately but the German version went gold and they had to attend some press events here and there so I guess the dev's were kind of taken up with other things.

Foxhound.
Seriously...no offense was intended, to you or anyone else, and not to draw this out any longer than necessary but perhaps I should get to the point of those last two questions in hopes of an answer-without the sarcasm.

If -as I would imagine- the Showcase was scheduled prior to the posting of this topic -which solicited previously unanswered questions or additional info requests on ArmA 2 to be submitted to the developers- and that given that BIS' devs would be neck deep in wrapping up the title to final status and/or any PR/marketing efforts in support of the forthcoming release that they would be unavailable for secondary concerns i.e., answering questions/filling in blanks, what was the purpose of creating this topic -when it was- in the first place?
____
Factual, usable answers to those questions, although welcome, will be of limited use once the game is released, don't you think?
:)(For affect)

Something needs to be done about the release date set for Australia. Its currently set for almost 3 weeks after the European release. If people cant purchase your product they will download it from anywhere they can find it. This will hurt the potential profit created in this region. I would "like" to be able to order your product (if it isn't stocked) & be ready for pick-up maybe 1 week after the official European launch. I don't think this is too much to ask for. Keeps people happy, keeps your pockets happy.

Cheers

Just something I would like to know.
Is loading cargo/ vehicles in to various transports (mainly c-130) going to be possible, along with the possibility of doing air drops?

Does anyone know if the German version of Arma2 is going to be censored...like every other game you buy here e.g. no blood/gore?
