@tech9374

Before you pay out the $1500 US I would consider a few things,

Recently I have discovered that to function in the VBS2 community without having any sort of "Slip-Ups" you need to be a very mature person, or have general common sense, I lack the common sense and am suffering majourly because of that, as the other VBS2 members on here know, So if you are going to purchase the Sim, then make sure that:

1. Search the forums before posting
2. Present a well written and structured post
3. Reply with a soloution if you know one if not encourage them and suggest and sort of knowledge you have on the project.
4. Be polite
5. Try and give something back to the community
6. Have fun, but stay serious, try to implement real ROE's and SOP's in a session with fellow VBS2 players, it adds to the realism!
7. Respect <<< KEY WORD - Respect the admins requests and thank them for anything that benefits you :)
8. Be nice to people, and dont be hostile ;)

Now you are set and ready to deploy in Virtual Battlespace 2, oh yes one more thing, do not abuse forum rights <<< also something i am suffering from, i have learnt from my mistakes, so i warn you, try not to make any!!!

Have Fun

Regards,

Oliver Christie

Most of your points are valid black, except number 5. The others should be self-evident in ANY forum.

It's true that if you acting funny or "weird" in the VBS2 support forums, or community at all might result in certain members not taking you seriously or even ignore you.
VBS2 is professional product for professional customers. They, and so the devs, have a different point of view on the whole thing then the "normal" gamer has. That means not that you can't have fun with VBS2 and on LAN sessions with the community though, just the whole thing is taken more seriously then in ArmA.

Your right that his points should be self-evident but in his particular case there was a lot more that was going on in the background that some in the community did not know about. I will not discuss what it was here in public or private with anyone as what happened is and was between blackknight and the parties in question. Suffice to say his "suggestions/warnings" are sound in that as blackknight found out if you step far enough over the line you can find yourself on the outside looking in real quick.

Its up to you to use PM's or other private means to talk about these kind of things. It is not allowed to use our forums as a kind of messenger about things which happened at another website.
