Here is a steerable LHD
bluefore/dbo_ships/dbo_LHD

i hope to develop it further but i will see how it works in MP and gameplay.

if you want to drive it arround with planes on people you will have to use the attachto command so they dont roll off.

i am developing a catapult for it and hope to have both elevators and the catapult plus some default attachto positions working by friday, if thee feedback is ok and it works of course.

for now simply add this attachto [nameofyourship[0,0,0]] to your planes init and mess with the third 0 for height the other two zeros effect north -south east west depending on whether you place a + or a - figure.

to detach your plane simply add a trigger or action stating . detach nameofplane

this is very nice! is there any chance to it in arma1 or make it usable in arma1...i mean it can be done..we can put arma1 addons into arma2 with alil bit of editing..cause i will never get a chance to play arma2 for at least a year or so..on the account of the economy here in the u.s.! but anyhow this is still outstanding and i hope to get a chance with it soon..good luck and hope you dont give up yet in arma1...we could still use that damn v22 gunship!

@soldier have no fear.. the v-22 is here... and still alive.. now that i am back from a much needed vacation.. i am sure we will be blowing the dust of the stuff.. most of the arma stuff that we made and was in the dungeon is already ported to A2.. and is in a new dungeon. :)

given some time to get the gang back running... all will be released this time around... tired of storing it all... 10+ gigs

Unfortunately for A1 people, several aspects of this implementation require a command, attachTo, that was added in A2. Well, it could be done in A1, but only in SP, and would require a lot of maths and messy workarounds. So...

However, the static model could probably be backwards ported (but if you have A2, then what is the incentive to make a big effort to port backwards just for other people?).

Looking forward to trying this out though...Might save BIS all that work they plan on doing for Carrier Command ;)

EDIT: I'd suggest having an anchored mode of some kind. Just have to keep the carrier stationary while taking off and landing and can attachTo to hold things on the deck while moving.

Thats not even legal.. do you think bis made all these models for someone to port them over to their old game?
attachTo is going to deliver many great things, but not the ability to move around the deck of a moving ship, sadly.

Could the LHD be given 'seats' that the folks riding along could sit in while the ship is in motion? This with a scripted ability like 'park' for the aircraft to 'attach to' the LHD would give it the ability to move in game with all aboard wouldn't it?

Even if the LHD is just used as a static position it is a great addition to the game and hopefully will be used for missions involving amphibious assaults and possibly rescue and insertion flights.

sure it can ,
just add a line or make a script , LHDcargo1= "FoldChair_with_Cargo" createvehicle getpos ship ; LHDcargo1 attachto [ship[-12,0,17]] mess with the numbers there till ya get somewehere near , then make LHDcargo2 3 4 etc.
them chairs have cargo pos so you can sit in em :). basic but i am sure i can add some tot he actual ship eventually.

I dont think its ilegal...seeing how you can port things back in forth from other bis games..but i guess i see your point! but my point is i WONT be able to play arma2 for at least a year or so..i got to get a new car..build up my business...and then buy a new computer! it might not seem right to you guys but for me it is...i would like a lhd too?

In the Eula (I think) of Armed Assault is stated you are allowed to use the included material and created material in any expansion and/or sequel. This means you can use Arma stuff in Arma2.
You should check the Eula of Arma2 if the same applies to Arma2 but the other way around (using Arma2 stuff in Arma).

Yes i tried that already but it write me that it have a ; missing :s

the name of my LHD is "porte1", so i must write in the init of my plane
attachto [porte1[0,0,0]]
is that good ?
