Hi all, ok this mission starts you and your 3 other teammates on the outskirts of a town. You're with some other troops.

First thing is my men; although responding to commands like moving are kinda "Yeh I'll go there" but they don't move!! Nobody moves, only I can.

Second; I noticed was this menu; What?! How do you use this?

Help!

Right, well I made some progress on this mission, but through sheer determination I managed to clear the first village by myself, and then all the other troops (including my own men who previously would not move) sprang into life!!!!

I still don't know how to control the other troops, they all just seem to do their own thing.

Ctrl + spacebar activates high command, isn't that what you should use in this mission?
I have no idea myself as i haven't played the game yet so i am just guessing, but it is worth the try ;)

No idea. I don't know what the 1-4 refers to. Before this mode was switched on I had my team (team green), an APC (team white) and some anti tank personnel (team red) but the blue icons didn't seem to refer to these.

Which brings me to my other point about team colours - how do you use them effectively?

Don't know, but i doubt there is no info in the game manual about how to control units nor in the game tutorials.

1, 2, 3, 4 etc correspond with F1, F2, F3, F4 etc, you can select all units with the " ~ " (left side of the "1").
Maybe this is what you mean?

Not quite; I have 10+ units under my direct control (F1-F10) in normal mode, but in the high command mode (CTRL+SPACE) they change to only 4 icons (F1-F4). It is this I don't understand.
