good readable Danish review (via google translation)
http://www.eurogamer.dk/articles/arma-ii-operation-arrowhead-anmeldelse

Bit surprised they give it a 7 of 10 after a very positive textual review.

So I was browsing the web as usual and I realized Operation Arrowhead releases today and believe it or not I have spending money. I've been looking at reviews here lately.

http://www.gamesradar.com/pc/arma-ii-operation-arrowhead/review/arma-ii-operation-arrowhead-review/a-20100628161137717008/g-20090813144336104029

Theres a review from games radar. it seems most of them are saying the same thing though.

I'm not suprised with 7/10 score in many reviews. This is good score for OA. The same poor performance like in ArmA 2 (for high & very high settings with long - but not max visibility and good fps speed we must have ultra super pc), bugs and stupid AI. Also campaign is boring and could be much better (with better voice acting, anyway is better than in ArmA 2). Still I don't understand why ArmA 2 & OA have these unreal & poor sounds of A 10 GAU Gun or Apache Cannon (for example) :|
In plus of OA - little better graphics, new weapons & units, three maps, new camera shaking effects, good NV and FLIR, possibility to "fusion" OA with ArmA 2 and mods, new mp games.

OA is only good game (but for me with ArmA 2 & some mods it's only small expansion pack). Many of ArmA fans like me, were waiting for this from some time, many were very happy due to what they saw about game on YT or some sites, but it looks like that many will be little dissapointed (even those fanboys who were talk that OA will be super game he he).
Thank you BIS for OA and your work, but please - next time give you some more time and made ArmA 3 without these all annoying bugs, with good performance, engine, physics, animations, sounds etc. etc.

I love Arma as much as the next guy but that's likely not going to happen. From what I know BIS is just too small right now and can't afford to handle all that right now. With such a small team working on a big game like ArmA its a miracle anything gets down.

At least they're making progress though. ArmA's gettin around to even mainstream people. Just the other day one of my friends asked me about OA and I was so surprised. So I guess what I'm saying in good time...........in good time. I predict a perfect ArmA by ArmA 4 maybe? :-)

It is essentially a complete game. (ie. Standalone, not just an expansion)

Besides 40 dollars for probably a few years of entertainment is worth it im my opinion. *DANCE*

So OA doesn't run any better than the original ArmA 2? I figured it would improve a little considering it's a desert terrain but all reviews and comments say how its still really hard to run

Theres been mixed results. Some people have seen that using dual graphic cards is dropping performance. It really just depends on your system.

The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men then himself.

For the hundreth time the regular troops are armed with scars because the game is set into the future when it is adopted as the main assault rifle. If you don't like, you fix it. Very simple to do really.

As for your steam problem use this thread: BI Forums

Yeah my 4870x2 can barely run OA(On Takistan) with more than 20 FPS at my current settings. On Low/Medium it still doesnt get above 30 FPS.
On the other hand, in ArmA 2(On Chernarus)....I could run fully maxed out, AA on High, 200% 3D Res and still get around or above 30 FPS.
If I played on my ideal settings of mostly very high/high. AA low. 133% 3D res. It looked great and I could run Chernarus with ~50FPS.

I'm think this has something to do with OA NOT HAVING ANY CROSSFIRE OR SLI PROFILES..... *WALL*

Solution:

1. Firstly set your CAT AI to ADVANCED
2. Rename Arma2OA.exe to Arma2.exe (Other crossfire games may work)
3. Start up Arma 2, you should now see that both GPUs are being used.

DO NOT USE THE -WINXP COMMAND!!! THIS WILL DROP YOUR FPS BY HALF
Currently getting 45 FPS+ usually 60 solid @ 2048x1152 all settings maximum apart from PP = OFF and AA = LOW. The loading of the GPUS is very nice (Around 70%), tested with renaming to "Crysis.exe" but it did not function, note down any other working .exe renames here.

@Enad:
Could you do us a favor and run some bench-tests with your original, then medium & low settings before using & benching the solution posted by kju?
