Just got the ArmA II build environment setup. Many new things for the mod for ArmA II:
-Hundreds of miles rail road tracks & roads added
-Many towns added
-New Airfields
-Custom terrain objects
-Custom Buildings in module form so you can build your own buildings with components from the ones we made
-Train stations, bunkers, obstacles, hedge rows, tree rows, fields, bridges, etc.
-Custom scripts that run anything from a V1/V2 rocket, AI bomber formation, para drops, incendiary bombs, flame throwers, submarines, landing craft, etc
-More WW2 infantry units
-More tanks
-More planes
-More bombers
-More bomb types
-Many new weapons
-New sounds to replace the old sounds
-The map previously had 360,000 object on it. Now contains over 2,000,000+
-The map is now detailed from Cherbourg to Caen on the french side of the English Channel with all the proper WW2 landing beaches
-More Airfields added
-Improvements visually and configurations changed in older vehicles
-Sounds changed to not drone out game play from miles away
-Did I mention Boats & Subs?
In a nutshell many things have to happen to get this mod out. Configs need to be changed with the newer ArmA II proxies. P3d's need to be changed to match the config changes. Some vehicle textures need to be fixed. The map textures need to be changed to ArmA II to get them to work proper. The older less efficient ArmA trees and bushes need to be replaced with ArmA II stuff - which shouldn't take long. Same with the building classes. With the old stuff its a slide show because of the amount of foilage involved in a very large detailed area. Obviously nobody wants to carry their addons folder from ArmA to ArmA II just to get a slide show, so out with the old and in with the new. We may have to pair back the amount of stuff on the map and spread it out a bit after testing. Works well with ArmA, but not in ArmA II right yet.
Q&A:
Will the mod be continued for ArmA?
-No, not enough time or disk space. My GF takes up most of my time :) So it's an ArmA II show now
Where's the Brit Infantry? I want to see pics, I demand pics?
-Uh didn't I post those somewhere? go back through the threads and find them.
Is the map still ginormous?
Yes London and Paris are still there. You can still fly over the channel for 30 minutes in a ju-52 or drive a tank for several hours if not days to cross the map if your bored ( make sure you take a gas truck ). However V1 & V2 rockets are exciting and cross the channel quickly!
Will the English side of the channel get built up more?
Uhhhh...dang man! The map til now has taken a very long time. Do you have time for this? :) If you do and you don't mind spending thousands of hours of your free time playing with visitor, then we have some fun for you. I will try to add more stuff to the map, but with 2,000,000 + objects, I dunno what the limit is. The map may exploded or self destruct. Plus binarizing this map kills PC's. OR if it works the possible slide show factor kicks in because there is too much. No offense M8's over there on the other side of the channel. I will add some random stuff to fill it in.
The transition from Arma to ArmA II should increase FPS with the vast amounts of foilage. As far as I know this map is still by far Armed Assaults largest, most detailed. With new modules in the mission editor, mission makers should have a plethora of new toys and towns to create vasts amounts of content VS. the old mod with barren wastes lands and few towns many miles apart.
We will include a wiki and class list for all the objects so people can apply them to missions, other maps, whatever they desire.
There is so much stuff in this mod, you guys shouldn't get bored of it quickly. There are soooo many towns and places to battle it out, and so many custom items to toy with. You can't go wrong.
I will post screenies and updates here until the thing is released in V1.0 fashion.
~Happy Halloween~ ( uh maybe...if were lucky )

viri :
lol im not surprised with that map! i couldnt even play your map in arma 1 when it was flat and didnt have so many objects^^
but it was really fun to play warfare on that map!:D
Warfare makes for great game play on that map.
-replaced most all of the foilage with arma2 foilage
-Working on replacing the buildings now
-Still using custom map items that we created for the map
-All the infantry are being reworked for ArmA2 - nearly complete: 2nd, 101st, 82nd, & 29th so far
Early War French, Polish, German, and British equipment would be nice too along with more Soviet and Imperial Japanese Equipment. I will have to do some research into the French and Polish Early War forces. But it would make the mod better and allow mission makes to make missions taking place during the 1939- Early 1942 Period of the War. Making some Winter Versions of the equipment for missions taking place in the Battle of the Bulge or the Eastern Front.
I know alot of the above were rarely or never seen combat. But still, just adds more variety to it and makes it less alike Invasion 1944 and other mods who try to be historically accurate and follow the normal Timeline.

Wow thats an impressive list, it would be pretty cool to see that many vehicles but highly impracticle.
Armstrong-"Hey Carillo, do you see that?"
Carillo-"See what?"
Armstrong-"Something's burning over there, see the smoke?"
Carillo-"That's not smoke it's dust!"
Armstrong-"Dust? i don't get it."
I have to add that the Bismarck and the U-Boot models are by Alper (thank you for letting us use them). I simply converted them to p3d, made the config, animations and scripts.
Me-163 is 100% mine. It has no cockpit textures yet (or smdi or normal maps).
@Gen.Reaper
Is that a wish list? Some of those are done or in works. There are even pics of Nebelwerfer and WurfGerät (like static Wurframen) in the Arma1 forum. Sabre is a Korean war plane. I think P-80 or Gloster Meteor would be more matching.
