Hi everyone,

Just wanted to reach out to the community and see who would be able to help out! I have this great base model for the EC-145/UH-72/EC-645 that is perfect for Arma2. The problem is that I am totally clueless at modeling for Arma and don't even have time to start learning it.

The helicopter is already in 0xygen and fully editable. Let me know if you have the time, skill and interest on playing with it and producing an awesome model.

The model looks very good. The hard part is getting nice textures on it.

That's the thing with the real life... All work no more play! You are right, the UH-72, name Lakota, as been implemented with some National Guard units like in Florida, Alabama, Puerto Rico.

The EC-645 will be the replacement for the Kiowa Oh-58 for homeland security, anti-drug enforcement and combat operation. I personally flown in the EC-145 at my previous job and let me tell you, this helicopter is awesome! Stable, agile, fast, and the best it's cost effective! Especially that the military doesn't have to spend a fortune on modification to meet their needs, all they need to do is slap a coat of green paint and it’s ready!

To respond to Emery... I got the model to adapt for FSX, but would rather see it in Arma2!

Here are some news on it...

Really looking forward to this one. I love the Eurocopter and I know I'll love the Lakota. From videos, the flight model looks a lot like the MH-6.

What we want to know is whos model it is. As you took it from FSX someone must have made it? If so who and did he give permission to port the model to ArmA 2?

To calm everyone down, the model is a royalty free model that I legally acquired. No author names were included with the model and no specific limitation of use was mentioned. The model was in a very primitive form which I used to remodel to a more defined and respectable mesh. Then I improved it with GMAX and imported it to Oxygen.

This make me the owner of the current version and able to port it into the environment of my choice.

Hope this helps!

Link to the original model?

You are not the onwer of the model cause you edited it a bit. You acquired the model and so someone allows you to use it.

** Topic locked as I have the feeling this isn't the correct way to bring models into ArmA 2. Specially since its from FSX and not many stuff there can be ported without any kind of crediting or what not of the original owner.

[add on]
We have found the model (or at least it seems as it looks completely the same). Although you simply downloaded the model from a different site who is hosting it as if it is a free model and so you can't be blamed for anything we still do not allow models being talked about porting on Armaholic without the original author permission if they are copyrighted. And if sites host stolen models it still does not mean that original copyright is no longer valid.

Here is all the links we found and which might be usefull for you to try and contact the owner:
http://www.flightsim.com/file.php

Click "New Search", search for "ec145" and you will find the model.
There is a readme available with notes from the author also forbidding any changes of the model. But also you find an email adress where you can contact him:
http://flightsim.com/zview.php?cm=view2&fn=%2Fhome%2Fflight%2Ffiles%2F70%2Fec145gen.zip&an=readme.txt&idx=1

Try to contact the author and get his written permission. As soon as you have that you can bring the model to ArmA 2.

[edit]
Topic unlocked as the TS sent us an email with written permission from the author he can use the model.
