Thanks for informing.
I moved this topic to 'other games' section. Where I think it is more appropriate. :)

I am downloading right now.

Nice initiative and indeed thanks for posting. This will give many people who always wanted to be able to try/play VBS2 the chance to do so without expences (except some bandwidth).

Just for the correct order, "Only leave feedback about Jcove lite in this topic!"

Our VBS2 discussion topic can be found here:
http://www.armaholic.com/forums.php?m=posts&p=4936#4936

@Einherjer
Also thanks a lot for taking the time to sent us a news item about this release :thumb
But we cover the Armed Assault series and although its from the same roots I do not feel we should post news about VBS2/Jcove lite here on Armaholic.
We have a forum topic about VBS2 and now one for Jcove lite. Thats more than enough. For more detailed info and feedback about both people should visit other websites dedicated to just those ;)

[edit]
Don't get me wrong, I own both VBS1 and VBS2 myself, so its not a matter of don't liking the programs, but just sticking with the main idea of this website.

Thanks for the heads-up Einherjer :) and many thanks to S10 for helping release this to the public.

I've wanted to give VBS2 a look for a long time, glad to see someone has made it possible to those not in the army and who don't have a huge budget for PC games. :P

Or maybe use one of these mirrors?

HotShot:
Torrent:
http://dl.psyphon.com/jcovelite.torrent

Direct:
http://dl.psyphon.com/jcovelite.rar
http://www.armaleague.com/vbs2/jcovelite.rar
http://www.sbs-clan.co.uk/vbs2/jcovelite.rar
ftp://81.19.223.207/jcovelite.rar

EDIT: And if those mirrors still have it in the .nrg format (why?!?!) you will need the set up tutorial, which can be found here.

Would probably be less misleading and avoid trouble/concern if those files were renamed jcove_light... not to mention the people who made it available would apretiate that people registered at the jcove site to obtain the software (not alot to ask really).
Anyway i dont understand why didnt they just upload jcove in a compressed folder, would be more user friedly instead of requiring the users to install/use questionable software and instalation methods.

I'll check it out when i have the time, to be totally honest im bored of Arma gameplay :blush .

I've been playing it recently. I like it alot. Honestly, I actually prefer the ArmA1 style gameplay soemtimes.

Somethings I like and noticed:

AI pathfinding seems a little more advanced. The AI seem good at moving through buildings and using some cover sometimes.
Stamina system.
Being knocked out if you're too close to a bomb etc.
Adrenaline.
Interaction with vehicles
The british stuff of course. :D

Flir - I have not checked this out.

Oh, and I made two missions and I'm about to whore them out:

I love how when vehicles are blown up they flip etc. :) And if you shoot barrels they actually roll. Vehicles are so much nicer to drive. Neither of which are the case in arma.

Jcove > ArmA
ArmAII = Jcove ? undecided. maybe with ace2 arma2 is better.
:lol
