VyMajoris : Cool, but FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR GOD:
Don't make any changes on the ballistics, let your weapons be compatible with ACE2.

I really don't get this fear. Why would we knowlingly introduce something we had to add to the BF2 engine to compensate for the various factors of marksmanship, that could not be replicated visibly? Bringing a weapon to bear quickly and hitting your POA, weapon sway, injury etc are either added artifically or hard coded in BF2.

ArmA2 has these factors by default. We have no reason to introduce a cone of fire into the engine ;)

I'm assuming all the weapons in BF2PR will be present in A2PR?

Yenk : Hi (I hope I'm doing this right and haven't just replied to one post)

I've been playing Arma for years now and have been looking through the sites all that time. I just wanted to say thank you to all of the team for creating this mod in particular as I've never had the guts to even attempt creating a cardboard box. (I'm assuming that this is the easiest mod to make) I've always wanted a mod just like this so thanks a million; especially to StalkerGB as I have been using your mods most of all during my time with both games.

My apologies for my life story, I'll try and shorten my messages from now on.

My only question concerns the acog scopes. It is obvious that you have done your research but I was wondering if you have any plans to include the red dot sight (functional or not) on top of it as it is standard issue with the new acogs. My guess is that you have already looked at it but I was interested to know if you have any plans involving it. (I would include an image but I'm scared of using the tool bar atm!)

Anyhoo, thanks again for all of this and I can't wait to try it all out.

Are you kidding?! The Cardboard Box is the hardest possible addon to make. That's why nobody had ever made one. You have to get the color of the cardboard right, make a soggy version for when it gets wet, animate the flaps, make each individual packing peanut, and then you have to make several different versions of it that include a litter of puppies, a hobo, a makeshift latrine etc. Then you come to the subject of armed Cardboard Boxes. With IEDS (RPGs, Bombs, 155 Shells etc.) a hobo with a knife, along with the classing "Box propped up on a stick with string tied to it" that traps the victim and causes a grenade to go off.

On a serious note, thanks to StalkerGB for his amazing work. How the hell was this kept a secret for so long? and those destructible walls...

Also the above was meant as a joke. I'm not making fun of you Yenk

Haha, Don't worry. I can understand jokes... although you missed out the cardboard box as a piece of camouflage so you can sneak right up to your opponent and then spring out to slap him! Just like my hero... Solid snake!

Yeah, the mod looks sweet and was just wondering about the acogs cos I couldn't find anything else wrong with it. I'm applying to the Royal Marines today too so hopefully will get to see all this kit properly and for real! So in a few months if anyone needs photos or references of all our kit... then you'll have to find it yourself because I'll probably be swimming through tiny holes looking for the elusive cardboard box so I can stealthily sneak up to the enemy and nut them!

Darkhorse, I also was not making fun of you and I'm sorry to say that Solid Snake is not my hero, but is in fact a different snake... The one from the Nokia games! Man that guy can eat!

Great responses so far guys.

I myself am a Serving British Army Soldier, and have served 19 years so far, so I kinda like to make sure the Brit kit is up to scratch ...lol.

We managed to keep it a secret for so long, because I kept a full hold on the project - which I started over 9 months ago.

I will endeavor to keep you all updated as we progress.

Thanks again, a lot more subtle in here than BIS forums ....think they are on over 20 pages so far ... haha.

It's sad but I've been forced to put a disclaimer on my jokes these days because of too many people who had their sense of humor murdered.

OT: 9 Months? Holy hell. I've never heard of a project kept secret for that long. You must either have very good OPSEC or you killed everybody else that worked on the project.

(second attempt posting this. *Sigh*)
First up. Awesome work so far guys things are looking promising. I've been scrounging various british military units/gear/vehicles etc for use in arma2 but there has always been things about the stuff out there that bugged me. Was toying with the idea of adding it all myself but the time and effort to learn the arma2 tools and create the assets would take some time and effort on my own (I've only worked with the unreal engine in the past). Anyhoo enough ranting from me.

I just wanted to voice my appreciation and a couple comments/questions..

I take it your painting a picture of the modern british army what with the new camo and the up to date versions of the weapons and with that in mind I was surprised and a little dissapointed not to see the L129A1 rifle. Granted it's just rolling out (but then so is the new camo) but it would be a welcome addition. Is this something we may see later? (I'll model it myself if it'll sway your mind hehe) The second thing is just a thought and purely cosmetic but the infantry helmets look like the mk6? with the refurbishment that's going on in the british army at the moment I can't help but think it would be good to portray the up to date equipment such as the newer mk7 helmets that are rolling out (always hated the look of our fruit bowl helmets) just a thought and would like to hear your thoughts on it all. Finally any chance we can get an indication of the size of the new map? I understand if you want to keep details under wraps till release so feel free to tell me to shut my pie hole but it would be nice to know.

At any rate keep the good work guys I can't wait to try it all out. All the best!

Great news !!!!! Finally, the PR for Arma 2. Really great news ! The 2 most realistic games are married :P ... It sounds we will have a very interested game! I play ONLY Arma 2 and PR nothing else becaouse of their realistic aspects. I also hope to see some maps in Iraq like Fallujah West, Ramiel, Bashra etc in this mod.

Superb UK_Force glad to hear it. Just leaves gameplay features and any other vehicles that may appear.

Is it wrong of me to be more excited about the UK army being represented in the game than the the gameplay features? lol

Any chance there will be some Canadian content in the future?... I haven't played BF2 but I checked out the PR website and loved what I saw on there. btw this looks awesome from what little I've seen so far.
