Scream has submitted, using our Public FTP, an Arma 3 guide meant for new players of the Arma game/series.

    Quote Scream :
This ‘short’ guide covers the core features of the Arma III game and present an overview of its content; it is intended for players who are new to the game and the ARMA universe. All you find in this pages is written by a player for other players. After reading this any new player should be able to perform all the basic action allowed in Arma virtual battlefield and have a basic knowledge of the game’s elements.

Monsoon released an updated version of his Arma3 Headless Client Guide on the BI forums.

    Quote :
Today I'd like to share with everyone my Arma3 headless client guide. My Arma2 HC guide is nearly 2 years old and needed a bit of a makeover. I cover a large range of topics including:
    • What is a headless client?
    • When should you use a headless client?
    • How to add a headless client entity to your mission
    • Contextually spawning units on either the server or the headless client:
      • spawn units via script
      • spawn units via DAC
      • spawn editor-placed units
    • How to transfer units from the server-->HC
    • Allowing headless clients to connect to your server
    • Starting the headless client on both Windows & Linux

I hope that this guide proves useful to both veteran and new mission creators alike. I will do my best to keep it updated as things change throughout the years. If you have any feedback or comments I'd love to hear from you, thanks!

    Changelog:
    • bug fixes regarding errors with moveToHC.sqf
      • added waitUntil{time > 2}; to make sure the HC has properly loaded the mission
      • no longer gives errors when HC is not present, we now use isNull rather than isNil
    • doc update: array returned by playableUnits does not return the headless client

87th_Neptune released his Fighter jet Combat Fundamentals Manual on the BI forums.

    Quote :
This manual is based on Multi-command handbook 11-F16 volume 5. Most information is left out due to the limits of Arma’s air operations, avionics and area of operations. This brings a 290 page manual back to little less than 50 pages.
The manual is designed to provide pilots the needed information to make the right decisions during any phase of a tactical mission. This manual provides no authority or sanctions to depart from the established training procedures and directives, nor is it directive in nature.

The details within this manual are based on John Spartan's & Saul's F/A-18. But are easily adaptable for any fast Jet.
