Looks like that VR 3 engine needs to be replaced in next ArmA/VBS series to avoid ai and performance problems.
Every time i see these reviews i get excited for this game to come out. Please stop so it will come sooner
is the top personnel hatch open on that Stryker?
Wow chaffs have been added to aircraft self-defense systems O.O!!
Look at the cracked ground in the 2nd screen shot-love the "near" realism BIS!
Addon management inside the game. No one happy? :D
BIS ownz. ;)
yeah... purepwnage.com lol
I can't wait for this! I can't believe how much they have added, I'm glad the mod management is there too, just to make things easier for everyone!
Oh shiznot Alex72, i did not realize that! I for one am ecstatic ! I was just talking about that yesterday with someone
I call BS on that fire effect when the stryker is shooting. Can somone say PhotoShop? I am also willing to bet that the SLAT armor does absolutely nothing. The cracked ground...... all the ground is cracked up, it is a desert, or at least that is what they attempted. The mod thing is a nice feature to have built in, doesn't really change anything though. People will still have to Download the Mods/addons and put them in correct folders...
The flare system, well the first problem I got is how can an AA missile lock on to a stealth aircraft? If you say heat source I am pretty sure the F35 has a cooling component in it's exhaust to make sure that doesn't happen. Hopefully the flares actually do something rather than just looking cool. The pilot would actually need to know when to deploy the flares....
This game seems far too rushed to be that different. Props to them finally attempting a current battle environment though. Was getting very tired and sick of all the F'n forests everywhere.
lol ironman.

Popping flares are done on ingress to target. And yes it works. Trust me.
@Ironman

Dude why do you have to be so negative? Quit bashing the game all the time and just be happy that BIS is adding new content. Hate it when people attack a game but never appreciate the things the company has to offer.
Just be happy they gave us
- FLIR
- New Environment
- A Nice Town Generating tool
- Flare System
- Mod Manager
- 3 New Massive maps
- +300 New Weapons and Vehicles
all that they offer in this Expansion pack and you worry about flares working........ ffs
And the slat armor. Sure Who know it might be useful and might not. But I know that if it doesnt work. Someone WILLcome to make a script for it to work.
I second iron mans opinion. All these new features and vehicles are pointless if the AI isnt better. To be honest. I would rather play arma 2 the way it is now with good ai then op arrowhead with the same lousy ai. I'm tired of for ex, firing a hellfire missile at a tank, watching the tank explode and the infantry soldiers never react or just lie down right next to the burning tank. its really a shame. Even withe zeus ai. They said they haven't changed the AI. Which was extremely disappointing. When i heard that every building was enter-able i was like "cool!" then i remembered that the AI cant even take cover so how the f^$$ are they supposed to go inside a building. Maybe arma 3 will feature semi-intelligent AI. This is why i am looking so forward to project reality. So we can play this awesome game without the fail AI. It really got on my nerves that they added so many new things instead of fixing the existing problems. Every mission i play is always the same. Just mowing down AI that are lying down in an open field not reacting to your presence or the fact that the guy next to him just got his head blown off by an airstrike. Come on. They have to fix this before making a new game. It's like owning a really crappy car that cant even drive then putting new rims on it. It just doesn't matter when you get down to it. The basics still need to be better. So now instead of killing ai that are lying down in a grassy field doing nothing we will be killing ai that lie down in an open sandy area with less cover that do nothing. *sigh*
Arma is my favorite game but w/o good ai its hard to enjoy sometimes. Sorry for the rant but i thought it was important. I know im not the only one who feels that way. No patch in 7 1/2 months. :(
1) The town generator tool is already available in ArmA2. Maybe it has been improved slightly, I don't know.
2) I highly doubt there are 300 NEW weapons, probably a ton of repeats
3) Anyone can make particles fart out of the tail of a plane, functionality should be the main point of having a flare system.
4) How about solving problems that have been around forever. Like how the F can the AI communicate with each other so F'n fast even when you have a silenced weapon. Take a stroll on a night map as long as AI don't have NV they can't see you. As soon as you fire everyone knows exactly where you are, even if you use fire and movement. Or how about the most simple like, SWIMMING IN WATER WITHOUT LOSING EVERYTHING! I am not asking for underwater, though that would be nice, just regular swimming above water...
5) The new terrain is nice but honestly, people would have eventually come out with more dessert maps. I am happy BIS did this but honestly, they are trying to put a cherry in a bowl instead of having ice cream below it.
6) Functionality is everything in video gaming. I am really anxious to see how much crap doesn't even work in MP. Hopefully they finally got the freakin UAV module to work in MP that alone would make my F'n day.
7) The positives... FLIR, the new weaps/vehicles, new GUIs, new terrain (to an extent), maybe small fixes to already known bugs...
All in all, It is hard to create the wheel. So, BIS is working hard, that is known.... All I am saying is lets be content after this release and hope BIS just fixes all the bugs that are inevitably going to pop up instead of compounding them..... FIX THE BUGS NOW BIS! (after a nice vacation of course)
@ Bryce23 and Ironman
If you guys feel that something needs to be fixed on the game, then tell that to the developers. Your posting your complaints on a news feed. You guys posting your problems about the game here is just like yelling at a rock. This is a modding community site, Not BIS Live Chat.
