FHQ Debug Console

Description:
Mission makers are frequently faced with the need to be able to run scripts for debugging purposes, watch values of variables and other tasks that go beyond what the game UI itself offers. Various tools already exist for that purpose, but none of them offered exactly what I wanted, so I created my own, which I now want to share with the community in case someone finds it useful.


Features:
  • Unintrusive: Doesn't define any editor objects by itself, nor does it require a module to be placed on the map.
  • "Live" debugging aids: Keeps user-defined expressions on screen after the console window is closed for real-time display of variables and expressions
  • Useful additional tools: Find building positions, and show icons representing groups on the map during play
    "Quake-stlye debug window": Display debug output directly on screen similar to consoles in other shooters


  • Installation:
    drop the @fhq_debug folder somewhere in your Arma 2 folder and add @fhq_debug to your list of loaded mods.

    fhq_debug.pbo


    Usage:
    While in game, press the "Use Action 20" key to bring up the console window. For additional information, check the included README file.
