The 101st Airborne is a Company sized community for the Invasion 1944 Mod. We hope to be a group of players who take the game seriously and have fun whilst doing so. There is no age limit for applicants, however being over 14 is advised.
Training is well structured and isn't "e-pushups". We won't tell you to run from here to here or do a pointless task. Instead we provide training that is applicable to gameplay scenarios.
We own 3 servers; A public missions server which runs the I44 missions alongside some house made missions, a public domination server and a private server which is used for unit events.

Ranks are handed out as needed due to performance and merit, not due to time elapsed or kissing ass. This results in more competent leaders, happier players and a more enjoyable game play environment all around. You won't find 3 Captains for every one Private here or a someone promoted to a Squad Leader positions solely because he makes missions and is friendly.

Rather than being promoted for general dedication and achievement a medal system is in place to reward members for their efforts. Split between in-game and out-of-game, they range from being extremely active to being a great helper all the way to absolutely going above and beyond expectations.

Events are handled on a weekly basis. Depending on your placement after BCT you will receive a squad training schedule which you are expected to attend. There main event is the Saturday operation which plans to get the whole company together to enjoy a few hours of gameplay.
TvT is a yes and no, whilst we love cooperating with other units and communities in COOP we tend to stay away from any TvT invitations. However this doesn't mean we don't do any PVP! An inter-unit squad tournament is in the works and will be played out once the roster begins to fill. As put by Private First Class Wilde:
"We are the North Korea of Arma Units"
We cater for several different levels of activity and dedication, from 2 events a week to 7 events a fortnight. If you wish to join the latter squad and are European and over 16, request placement to E/1/2 in your application and you will be place there after your BCT. Please bear in mind that that is the most heavily trained and demanding squad in the Company.

We have an "MOS" system over here at the 101st AB. It is called the Specialist Role System and is on a requirement basis. By checking the notice board in teamspeak you can see the demand for roles. For example if we have a strong need for Automatic Riflemen, you will see this role in red meaning it is in extreme need. However if there was no need for the role it would be in black, meaning that you cannot apply for training.
Here are the roles and courses available.
Advanced Rifle Course
Anti Tank
Assistant Anti Tank
Machine Gunner
BAR Gunner
Engineer
Grenadier
Medic
Mortar Crew
Scout
Marksman (90% advanced rifle score required)

The time we all give up to play the game is voluntary and should not be wasted. If you cause consistent issues and act immature don't expect to stay around for long. We won't keep to just for the member numbers. 3 Demerits and you are gone.

A copy of ARMA 2 Combined Operations and a valid CD key without a ban (believe me people have tried)
A Microphone, TS3 and Steam (whether you own Arma on steam is not important)

We've done away with the clunky forum application system. Simply;

Once you've done that join teamspeak and speak to Jupp if you are European or Delfino if you are North American. If neither of these apply to you, speak to Captain Furlong.
If you have any questions don't be afraid to pop into teamspeak and talk to either a Squad Leader, Platoon Officer or Application Officer.
