DSS: The Mod


After the Island’s awakening of the earthquake device, something very sinister had occurred within the geographical nature of the terrain. Scientists were baffled by the strange effect towards the terrain and ordered an evacuation of the island. The overall time of an evacuation was from 3 to 5 Months. 1 Months later…that threat became a reality.


- Different types of zombies with animations and sounds! (SP & MP compatible, can be placed on map)
- Smart zombie pathfinding. (Inspired by DayZ SA)
- Easy-to-use dialogs for crafting, cooking and more!
- The ability to drink, eat and heal using the already added items in ArmA 3. (Bloodbags, baked beans, etc.)
- Custom HUD for displaying hunger, thirst and health.
- Fix or refuel your vehicles with toolboxes or jerry cans!
- Over 25 items and counting for DSS!
- New weapons to find and possibly craft!
- The continuation of the ArmA 3 campaign known as "The Awakening".
- Tutorial and sample mission for adding your own items such as for crafting!
- Easy to place modules for your own missions.

Extract into the ArmA 3 Directory, by default this is located in:
32-Bit - C:\Program Files\Steam/Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\
64-Bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam/Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\
After extraction it should look like this:
Steam\Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\@your_mod_folder_name\addons\

You can also use the "Arma 3 Alpha" folder in your "My Documents" folder. Your folder setup could than look like for example this:
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name1\addons\
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name2\addons\
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name2\addons\

When present place the "userconfig" folder into your game install folder, usually:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3".
You may already have "userconfig" folder from other addons and/or mods in which case it is safe to merge the contents from this archive.

You'll also need to add a Launch Parameter to Steam, in order to do so right-click on ArmA 3 Alpha and click Properties and then Set Launch Options. In the window that opens enter in -mod=@your_mod_folder_name
For using multiple mods you would then do so like this:

You can also use -nosplash to get rid of the splash art and intro videos.

And of course you can also enable and disable community made addons and mods through the in-game Options Expansions menu if you do not want to mess with startup parameters!

Future plans:
The stages where “DSS: The Mod” is released from ALPHA to FULL are:

Introduce all above in the first patch. Fixes and patches WILL be included in each patch in due time, if there are known bugs/issues.

After the Early Access Alpha, plans are made to create a continuation of the Arma 3 campaign as an apocalyptic crisis caused by CSAT, the ones behind the earthquake machine.
The campaign will be based on Tanoa.

A possible expectancy of a re-overhaul of the arma 3 inventory, merging all custom dialogs into one.

NOTE: Features listed in “ALPHA”, “BETA” and “FULL” are expected to take place within these stages or may change. However, more features may be added in due course, to this next installment for ArmA 3!
