Tiscali Games released a teaser for a new preview which should be released tomorrow.
spoock posted a quick translation on the
BI forums- low framerate (20fps) on PC HW (C2D 3 GHz, 4GB RAM a GF GTX-260 s 896 MB RAM),res.: 1280x1024 and highest details
- reduction graphic resolution hadn't some effect for better framerate, but reduction graphic details was much good (decrease visibility under 5km hadn't some impact on framerate)
- set medium graphic details raised framerate on 35-40fps
- engine wasn't checkout in preview build
- AI is not so good on open areas (standart situations as we knows in ArmA or OFP, when AI overlie, check all sides and continue in move)
- AI had problem with orientation around houses (aim to fence, not to open area)
- AI doing better cover (going around obstacles)
Maruk stated the following about this new information!
Quote Maruk :
Two little details to this:1) games tiscali broke embargo date given to all media world wide, which is tomorrow, why they did it, I really don't know. Also I suggest to read their comments with optics of that review of Arma 1: if you see Arma 1 the way their review, I think you will see Arma 2 that way as well: http://games.tiscali.cz/reviews/arma/index.asp.
2) All screenshot posted there made by them have wrong aspect ratio (looks like captured in 16/10 but posted as 4/3) which creates even worse impression.
Anyway, let's wait for more previews to come next week and the week after for more balanced opinion.

Hi, i'm editor of Tiscali Games, to comment and correct Maruk's statement regarding recent news:Just to clear up the confusion: these screenshots are no way broken, no bad aspect ratio. This is how it comes directly from the game (preview-version), when set to 1280x1024 and 4:3 and high details = standard setting allowed by the game. We haven't done any conversion of the ratio or resolution of screenshots.
We also didn't break the embargo for hands-on impressions, which will be released tomorrow. This was only small teaser, as our standard marketing practice.
As for Maruk's reference to ArmA 1 subjective review (written by one of TG's 30 freelancers): maybe would be helpful to learn how to accept any critism regarding his child and don't take everything way too much personal.
It's just Tiscali trying to make the game look bad. And they know that some people judge the games solely off of their graphics.
Those screenshots look terrible! As bad as ArmA 1!? What is this!?
I have a really good PC but the low FPS statment on that sort of computer is kinda weird considering how bad the graphics look....
In every video I saw, the Graphics look awesome, much better than Arma 1.
I REALLY hope the game at its highest settings looks good and runs decently.
who thinks that the average player with his average PC will run ArmA2 above medium settings?
Come on I have 4GB ram, dual core 2.5Ghz and 8800gts 312mb (much higher than optimal requirments) but I play ArmA at medium settings with 2k view distance with maximum 40fps 15-25(in towns).
"no bad aspect ratio...when set to 1280x1024 and 4:3"
too bad 1280x1024 is 5:4 and not 4:3...
Just to inform you guys...as some of you have guessed, the screenshots were not taken at full details :) , but mostly medium, because there were low fps. But you'll be glad to know, that this is some old preview version and from what one beta tester of a later version said, it was running well on a c2d @ 3ghz a 9800gtx. So rather wait for the final version impressions ;)
yeah its obvious that is a conspiracy of codemasters.Marek must make an announcement and take some law measures.
Especially the ''hand in gun thing''...wow codemasters have overdone it...
Also something else...where is the ''IN GAME'' label? Now its position took the work in progress?
Just LOL
The Tiscali response is full of crap. Try for yourself: change the sizes in photoshop from 1280:1024 to 1280:960. You should then see that the ratio is wrong on the Tiskali shots.
Maybe it's a conspiracy by codemasters... :8)
lol
I still think tiscali is full of crap. We've seen plenty of ingame videos to know there some miscommunication going on. They are either lying or misinterpreting about it being on high, aa is turned off. High settings don't disable that. I cant believe they would think we were this stupid.
I AGREE WITH DER

GREATLY SAID BROTHER!!!:eek:D
Maybe Tiscali Games just wanted to be first. :p
I do hope that when they finally review this game, it will be done by someone who actually knows what this game is all about, and not by someone not even remotely interested, or with some sort of suspicious agenda.
Now I finally know that I didn't rush a year ago when I bought a PC for future:yes
P.S. Tiscali always sucked at reviewing games...:O_o
POTS, I'd rather wait for some other sites to confirm this ;)
According to what Maruk said the embargo will end tomorrow so we have some more info to look forward to :)
Hey guys!
See the photo whit the Harrier ...
AirCraft!?
Whatever, i'm waiting for this game!!!
