Description: You play as a small team of insurgents tasked with breaking a beloved Major out of a makeshift American prison camp. After being smuggled ashore via a fishing boat you must make a short journey through forested territory to the enemy camp. Be careful as you return the Major to your boat as the Americans will respond in force. Features: * No addons required. * User-selectable difficulty setting: you choose how many enemies there are -- "Tiny", "Small", "Medium" or "Large". * User-selectable time-of-day. Play the mission at any time. * Random enemies -- all soldiers have random equipment and skill levels. All squads have randomly varying sizes and most follow randomised waypoints. Some squads (especially those that respond to your attacks) may or may not appear at all. This allows for greater replayability as the mission is never the same twice. * Random weather. * A supply crate at the start of the mission allows you to pick from various Russian rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, launchers and other miscellaneous gear. A mortar (using the BIS artillery module) is also available at your starting location (be careful not to hit the prisoner). * Uses the BIS first aid modules -- if you get hit there's a chance your comrades can drag you to cover and apply first aid. * Ambient animals and civilians. Installation: Extract the .pbo file(s)to your ArmA2\MPMissions folder. Forum Topics - BI Forums

Not a bad little mission. It's fairly straightforward but has a lot of polish. It is set on Utes, which is good as that means better frame rates for my frail computer. We've completed it with 3 players on the two easiest difficulty settings, we're now trying to beat "medium". I found the prisoner was a bit of a pain to lead because he took a gun when freed. During and after combat he would move with a bit of caution. Still, I guess it's better than him being unarmed. He did manage to take out one enemy my buddies and I didn't see. As for the randomness it's quite nice not to be able to memorise enemy positions. It does mean that sometimes you meet too many enemies and sometimes too few, but that's war. Overall a very good mission especially if you are looking for something you can play and finish in under thirty minutes.
Simple objectives, short travel times and a large number of random variables make for a mission that you won't tire of quickly. The adjustable opposing forces ensure a challenge regardless of squad size or experience. It's also a good co-op mission to introduce newcomers to ArmA.
