Ok , I'll slap this up here as I hope its the right place, search returned no answers I needed , concerns OA anyway.

Right , I have OA installed in with ARMA2 so for me its combined ops , now , I like to edit missions etc quite a lot, problem I'm hitting is when I edit a mission and try to run it on my OA server , it wont run , jus kicks me back to mission selection screen , so I'm assuming that because I'm running combined ops then my OA only server cant host the mission for me , I rent a decent server which has been fine for ARMA2 and has switched over to OA already, and running nicely I might add , and I cant seem to launch OA on its own to edit OA stuff only, will only launch as combined ops.
I assume a dedicated server might overcome this , but thats totally unaffordable for me.

So , is anyone running combined ops servers or are we all only on OA or ARMA2 servers atm.
Am I gonna have to reinstall OA seperately to edit and run my maps etc on my OA only server.
Is this a known issue , possibly waiting on a patch or something.

I don't follow your post, its pretty confusing but if you make a mission with Arma 2 and OA of course you need Arma 2 as well to be active on the server if you want to play that mission.
If you do not have Arma 2 on the server and want to play those missions you will have to install it (probably reinstall as OA needs to be installed inside it to run as CO).

how do you do this??

On our dedi box we have an installation of ArmA 2 with OA installed in there. To get it to run properly i created a shortcut to the OA server on the desktop and added the -cfg=server.cfg to the properties ( like a normal mod ) but when i start it i can only see the standard OA maps not the chenarus maps as well....where have i gone wrong

steps i did

installed OA into our A2 directory ( by uploading the entire contents of my OA dvd to the server )
Patch A2 to 1.7
Patch OA to 1.52
Set up desktop shortcut so it reads the cofig file properly ( C:\xxgames\JONATHANH\GameServers\TC02670426127142715412816\arma2oaserver.exe -config=server.cfg )
Launch the ArmA2OAserver.exe

Do i need to actually need to use a fresh Full install of Arma 2 ( from DVD ) and OA ( from DVD ) then using the trick to combine them and then run the ArmA2OAserver.exe???

I am not sure what trick you are referring to but to me it looks as how it should work what you have done.

Only thing I wondered is how you patched your OA if you uploaded the contents of the DVD, the patch wont find the install and say you cant patch the game, tha is unless you applied the keys to the registery manually.
Otherwise you upload your local OA install which was patched to your server.

Additionally "C:\xxgames\JONATHANH\GameServers\TC02670426127142715412816\" is the arma2 root? No idea how this host works and if he installs games in numbered folders like that contrary to the default folder structure naming.
