^ yep or else use a script to swap out all the regular weapons for ACE ones (ie: DAC has a function for this)

It looks kind of complicated, I just want to replace the weapons, I have Zeus AI so my ai already perform brilliantly.

Yeah it would be a bit of a pain for sure :-D

Your best bet might be to find a weapon replacement pack as mentioned.. or units that have specific ACE configs created for them (ie: Lingor units)

Er, one last question. Since I updated my old computer to a newer one, I had a mod that actually did see ACE AKMs appearing in the hands of some ai units. It may have been ASR. Can ASR and ZEUS be run together?

I agree with the above post. It has been repeatedly suggested to the ACE developers and been signed off in the past due to lack of interest, by design, and inactive status.
If you are here... - perhaps you are experiencing the same issues I have found while using ACE. The system doesn't work when using two human players to coordinate the attack. please go the the developer link and add your comments of support for a rapid fix to this issue. Here
With some more input, I believe these folks can quickly repair the mod, and have the capability restored.

Not to be duplicative, but Foxhound suggested I post this post here, vs in the other (Mods Complete) forum.

This problem is only encountered when using the ACE mod - and does not apply to the vanilla version.

GBU's dropped from A-10's and AV-8's with human pilots are failing to guide onto the laser spot when using a SOFLAM controlled by a human player.

This is completely strange, because if either of these elements are replaced with an AI unit, the "system" works.

As you recall, the "Laser Target" indication was removed with the introduction of ACE. Now, the pilot has neither a laser target marker in the HUD or any CCIP/CCRP weapon release cues. You cannot "tab" through to find the laser target.

Still, rough coordination can be accomplished by the FAC transmitting the target coordinates to the pilot..who can Shift/Click the coordinate on the map to be viewed as a rough aiming point. At night, the pilot can actually SEE the laser spot from the SOFLAM using NVG's. Even so, given these rough aiming cues, the weapon (GBU) still fail to consistently guide to the target when using two humans trying to coordinate this attack. Again...this is not a problem when one (either pilot or FAC) is an AI. It is also not a problem in the vanilla version. Only with the ACE mod running.

This issue has been on the dev-heaven site for nearly a year, in multiple bug reports and was signed off for various reasons : Not enough input, by design, and not valid. If you are reading this, you are looking for a solution to the matter, just as I have.

It is frustrating to know that this is a perfectly legitimate manner of attacking targets...one that worked in the vanilla version of Arma2 just fine.

I have posted a bug report on the dev-heaven site, and would appreciate/encourage anyone experiencing similar issues...to post a comment there...or just indicate that you too are having these issues. In that way, the developers set a priority to resolving bugs. Here is that link: here

To reiterate - this deals with having the ACE MOD, not the vanilla version, and only occurs when trying to coordinate between two HUMAN players.

If you disagree with this issue as a problem, and have been having perfect results...I would be more than happy to observe your success... please reply with your server, where I can come and try it out with you...to see what you've done and what I'm missing...because quite honestly, I believe the system was broken as a result of an unintentional patch for another problem (see the bug report).

Did you not read the several posts after the quote you linked? Between me and Oksman. The issue was resolved and that is the route ACE2 decided to take regarding laser guided bombs.

As you may know ACE2 is a realism mod, and having a floating box with a magic circle appear is not exactly realistic, good for vanilla but not for ACE2.

Hi all !

I'd just like to know if someone have more informations about the M88A2...

I'd like to add it in a mission for my team, for somes secondary mission like find and "extract" a friendly armor etc.
But I can't find any info about this tank... I see a ShackTac video where the M88A2 have a .50 on the top. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?list=UUtIBkKQD1u7asfuRsqSLvYQ&feature=player_detailpage&v=bWa6wjjfK-c ) Maybe someone know how to add it? Or its just an "atach to"?

I try to tow a tank, its work fine but the towed vehicles is about 2 or 3 m above the road :D

So I just want to know if there is some script, or addon to add a new M88A2 or something?

My engineer squad really need a new vehicle ! x)

Yes that would probably be ASR although I did not know it adds ACE weapons to AI units. I don't think there would be a problem running ASR and Zeus... .just make sure you don't run ASR_AI and Zeus

i create the missions by myself, so i have to add a ACE magic Box?

It's an empty item under Ammo (or ACE Ammo can't remember) and it's called Magic Box in the list. If you have ACE wounding enabled you should also add a Medical crate

it isn't working right now, i synchronised me and the box to the warfare module but it doesn't show up
do you know how to fix it?
