Hello everyone

Well I feel like I have come very late to the party ... I have eyed up ArmA and Queens Gambit in PC World on a number of occasions, but somehow never bought it. Don't really know why - but recently I went for it and bought Arma 2 after kind of flirting with the demo on and off for a period of months.

I'm glad I did, because I am finding Arma 2 just kind of drags you in, and wont let go. At first it felt so dense and difficult compared to other games, but slowly I am figuring out how to play it (single player campaign, scenarios and armory) and the more I understand about the tactical freedom in the game, the more excited I get. Last night I played about with "Eye for an eye" and was amazed at being able to send my sniper to cover the road whilst I snuck up on enemy positions. When I gave the order to fire, 3 guys went down in quick succession, and it felt pretty sweet. Unfortunately a machine gunner got one of my guys and the mission ended. The game can also be extremely frustrating, but it seems to reward slow, careful progression. I am trying to progress beyond frantic number bashing to slick use of the command system :D

About me, I am 32, been playing computer games as long as I can remember, and currently live in Aberdeen, Scotland. I am a Mechanical Engineer by background. Once I get the hang of the game, I might look around for a clan to join :) Any suggestions?

Cheers

Ross

Hi thanks Viper

Yes I have noticed that - another thing I am excited about! Will probably be a while until I feel confident to go online, but as the community has been around for 10 years I'm guessing it isn't going to go away any time soon!

Thanks for the welcome :)

Hey there! I'm CdnRacer from Canada. I haven't played Arma2 in almost a year but am going to be getting back into it. If Bohemia made a WW2 eastern front version I don't think I'd ever leave the house. :-D
