I have been trying to use the RH HK416 and RH M14 mod but cant get it to work. I have the folder in my Arma 2 Addons folder doesnt work so I click on the hk416.pbo file it opens the game up and asks me to create a new expansion no I name it 416 and enable it and I still cant find the weapon in the Armory. is there a special map i need to shoot the modded guns ? Cause I cant find it on any of the stock maps.

Hi Goon187 and welcome to ArmaHolic *HI*

You cant just double click the .pbo! lol ... you need to put it in a mod folder... I cant explain so much right now
as im off to work, but check out this for the info in depth!

Once in game, go to ammo and then look for the mod RH weapons whatever..

Hope that helps.

Sigh..

Ok,

With modfolders they have to be in your directory e.g. C:/ProgramFiles/BohemiaInteractive/Arma2/...... (or wherever your root directory is) not in the "addons" folder to make a modfolder, start off with a new folder name it for example @RH_Weapons, then open it up put a folder in there called addons, put all .pbo's and .bisign files in there.

Now with your folder in the correct place C:/ProgramFiles/BohemiaInteractive/Arma2/@RH_Weapons, you can go tou your shortcut icon, right click it and go on properties, go to the target line you will see some thin like this:

Note: this is my CO Icon
"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe"

you want to add this to the end of it

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe" -mod=@RH_Weapons

Now start your game, with the "mod loaded with above steps" go in the sp editor and place a unit, now go to place another unit instead of placing a unit go to empty, you should find the ammobox under ammo or if not there it will be under a personalised name by RobertHammer more then likely RH HK416 etc place it, preview and open up the gear menu (in the ammobox) and voila! problem solved :-)

I got yow back Dark *ROFL*

# Goon187 : i dont know what Map to go to. Everyone I have went to only has AKs

Any map will work with addons, Seems you put down a Opfor Basic Weapons box or..... your trying to get weapons in the armoury of which you can only unlock by doing tasks in the armoury.

The link you gave me didnt really help me with the RH weapons Vipers post explained everything I need to know, but I couldnt find a map that has a gear box on it that has the weapon. Is there an infantry training map ?

Are you plain stupid? .. sorry but what Viper did was basicly tell you what the link does!
apart from the link has it all to FINE detail with pictures too! Viper just put in to a quick condenced
version for you to get an idea ... lol

And what you mean an infantry training map? lol... ALL maps are BIG playgrounds! as long as you know how
to use the editor! you can use the editor to setup the infantry training ground on ANY map! just like Viper said,
Place a unit of your choice, then go back and instead of placing a unit go to the tab "empty" and go to where it
says "ammo" inside there you will see all the weapon and ammo boxes etc ...

[oh and try out this thread too, alot of info on here on how to do basicly anything]

Sorry mate, just this morning in my time I was in a rush so couldnt help much.

Just one more thing, requesting another thing on which you have already asked on this thread is pointless!

We all start of as a newbie, glad you have it fixed, now you can learn from this and teach others in time :-)

Added 58 minutes later:

You might want to use the start up line after the recent patch

 -mod=%someInstalledMod

Check the OA Fix List

to be quick though here.

* New: Expansions possibly registered in Windows Registry (by some future setups) are loaded and available through ModLauncher.
When used with -mod commandline the prefix '%' should be used, such as -mod=%someInstalledMod

Nah you use the same mod launcher as me, been using it today all seems fine, we still have that bug though when you kill the enemy, and they remain in a standing postion so you waste some more ammo on them.
