O ok, I do have one other question, I am not good with add ons and I am still fuzzy after reading the help page on how to do it, but is adding a add on kinda the same way you do a mod? For instance empire total war, I have done the Civil war mod to it, or is it tottally different?

Say you download a "New Unit"

In your ArmA 2 folder "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2"

Create a new folder called "@New Unit" (can be any name).

Now you have "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\@New Unit"

Inside this folder create another folder called "Addons"

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\@New Units\Addons"

Place the "New Unit" files in the Addons folder

Yep, all files from the addon go right into "...ArmA 2\@New Units\Addons"

To use the @New Units (Assuming you have OA) you use the "Expansions" menu, you should see in that list "@New Units"

Click, Enable

Your game will restart and you a go

well I think I have to re install arma2 lol blank when I turned it on so I messed up some where.

Dude that kinda sucked lol, had to uninstall both and re install, well I think I found where I screwed up. In side the game file where you told me to go C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 Addons was already in that file. So did I need to make a "new Unit" file and then take the addons and put it inside the "new unit" file? That is what I did and then it all went blank on both games. I also have the operation Arrowhead expansion, so I was wondering if I down load a add on for Arma 2 will that carry over to Operation Arrowhead? I know youre probably thinkin this dude is a dumb ass lol which you all have that right, I don't know anything about computers. Once I learn it I memorize it but I never really did it with this before, I thank you for helping me out as much as you have. I got to go see Sgt. though we have combatives tomorrow and I have to help him set up for it so Ill be back on later tonight, gotta love the army lol.

Lol I've made some pictures

Step 1: Create a new folder, name it "@SCUD" (We are using the Mobile Missle Launcher "SCUD" addon)


Step 2: Inside the "@SCUD" folder create a new folder named "Addons"


Step 3: move the mod files into your "Addon" folder

Dude you rock man, I think I got it now, I pushed save to the addon file in side the scud file that I made like you have shown in the picture above hopefully it works. Ill let you know.

O it was simple just unistalling it and reinstalling it, I just bought a bad ass gaming computer, I can play anything on max graphics, I got a I7 With one Terabyte of memory, a 1050 forgot the gamming card but its pretty good thinkin bout doin dual. someone told me it would make it super bad ass.

Yeah, just about. Unless it uses an Installer application thing (which is similar to how you'd install ArmA).

So I have been trying to download MRAP MaxxPro by namman2 and every time i download it and winzip it basically brings up an empty unzipped folder with a file that i cant open or doesnt look like anything i see on your pic. I'm just starting to figure out the wide world of pc gaming and would love to have some help.

Have you checked out this? im sure its cause your not used to installing addons yet!
though I could be wrong, the file you download should be a .pbo and then you follow the
instructions above in the link.
