ok i am about to flip out at this point. i have searched these forums and all over the web and have not been able to find a exact answer for this problem. everytime i try to play anything other than armory the game just crashes to my desktop. i have updated my drivers and even updated the game but i am just having no luck. arma 2 ran perfect, but operation arrowhead is being a problem child. i am hoping for some insight and even a little bit of help.

Can you provide us with your .RPT? Located in:-

C:\Users\PCName\AppData\Local\Arma2OA\arma2OA.RPT

This file will give you the exact details of the crash, just use pastebin to copy it or upload it to a file sharing site.

Make sure you delete it before starting the game so we get a fresh crash detail.

Dwarden is a very busy man, and cant attend to every user's demands, its best just creating a ticket over at dev-heaven (Community Issue Tracker) to show your problem; while providing your .RPT, I'll take a look at it though and we'll go from there.

Just the arma2OA.RPT is needed, pack them with a archive tool like WinRAR or 7zip for example and upload them to a site like 4shared.com or rapidshare.com and send us the link they provide you with after uploading.

That isnt a fresh .RPT (first time you started the game was 2010/07/19) to make a fresh .RPT just delete the old one and start the game, make sure you remember that for any future problems as others would just ignore the .RPT all together.

Right reading it it seems you are still using the orignal version of the game... v1.52, that game has been patched to v1.57 with v1.59 about to come out soon, so here is the patch you need just run it and start the game after it finishes your problem should be fixed (till at least the next version releases), make sure to check here at least once a week and catch up on the latest news on the home-page (make sure to go through the pages until the last news you have seen) also going to the official arma 2 site wont hurt, you can subscribe to there rss to get all the latest news without visiting the site, they always post there latest patches news there.

Let me know how you get on...

Well its good to hear your running it now. But I will have to interject, it is paramount that you always run the game at its latest patch, so you have bug fixes and can join multiplayer servers...

Also where are you from Dznts? seems very late/early to post at this time if you live in america :-D 11.30 here

I was having the exact same problem.
And I am not quite clear of how you've solved.

Did you just patch it to the latest version ?

no didnt even have to patch the game. i dont have alot of time to explain. i will try when i have a lil free time. but all i did was change the registry key strings in the arma 2 folder. the game works perfect now. i am able to play all of the campaign and scenarios with out any crashes what so ever.
