Hello guys!

Well i googled around and searched this forum for my answer, but i couldn't find it.

I'm making a small mission were you get dropped of by a chopper then join your squad and then secure a area.
Well the problem is that i dont know how to join a squad...
I tried the join waypoint but then i already got linked to the squad when i was 100 meters away from it.
So i made a trigger with a little area, but i dont know which command i need to type in.

I tried like: Man1 Join group team1

Anyone knows the answer?

In the editor, press F2. Then click and hold the follower unit, and drag to his desired leader. Then release the mouse button. You will see a blue line connecting the units. To undo, simple click and drag to nowhere.

Hiya,

You don't need any complicated knowledge for this one thing. I made a simple example for you.

You don't need to place a join on the group themselves. You only need to use the Sync from your join, to their waypoint path. Very easy! The AI group will wait at that waypoint till you get to the JOIN one.

Its working when i am on foot.
But when i am in the transport chopper i already got linked to the squad when i am 100 m away from it.

How do i solve this?

Starting in a helicopter still should be the same thing.

If for whatever reason you're still being grouped with them 100m away, then try setting the waypoints completion radius to 5 or 10.
But it shouldn't group you too far off when its sync'ed.


If you're still having this problem post back with a bit more info like ...

• Where the player is starting
• Where the player is going
• Where the AI group is
• Where the AI group is going
• Where do they link up

It is working! Those images you made are very helpful!
Although, there is one more thing...
When i joined the squad the squadleader orders me to get back in to the chopper :S

Shouldn't ... make sure the helicopter isn't in the same group as the AI group. Otherwise the AI leader will tell you to use it, because it beats walking. lol

EDIT:

Also make sure you are not grouped with the helicopter as well.
