I just bought and downloaded Arma2 and Arma OA via steam. When i try to run the Combined operations an error pops out saying ''Data file too short 'EXPANSION\Addons\Characters_e.pbo' Expected 672092797 B, got 321781760 B'' and i cant play it.

Any help is useful since am dying to play this game.

Here is the fix for your problem!

How to do it from here instead of following that link:

1. exit STEAM client
2. start STEAM client via 'run as Administrator'
3. select A2: OA in games list by left mouse button
4. right mouse button > menu > choose 'Properties'
5. chooce 'Local Files' tab
6. choose 'Verify Integrity File Cache'
7. wait till it's done

Or you can re-download/install the game as it hasnt installed the data probably... you can see that in the error given...

Also a more descriptive title would get more answers ;-)

Look at the link mate... its not because of an install issue, its steam which does the error! everyone has had this
problem either way with using steam.

thank you very much for your help but here's what helped.

Good old restart your computer and try again! After that it started autopatching via steam and all was fine!

I appriciate all the help!

@grierson I just dont see how in the world could that help me :P
