I am sooo glad my first post gets to be a troubleshooting post.
I do thoroughly enjoy arma, when it works for me. Firstly, I am recent convert from the console wasteland and decided to make a gaming pc for the upcoming Arma III and BF3 releases. I cant tell you how much Armaholic and the wealth of info within has helped me overcome the myriad of bumps in the road I have had with this game.

So lets get to it.
Earlier today I was getting some odd error message about a profile and the game wouldnt load.... I told the computer to suck it and proceeded to uninstall OA from the top down. There was nothing left; from the shortcuts to the registery.... I also did a standalone install of OA, even thought I own both.
At this point I did a fresh install of Arma2 and started the game. After a few starts I updated it to 1.10. Next I installed OA and started it a few times and updated that to the current version. Everything was happy. Ran a benchmark or two, adjusted the settings and all was fine.
I put my Addons (ACE2, CBA, and a couple of RH weapon mods) into the My Docs folder and went to take it for a test drive.
NO GO!

Heres what I recieved:
No entry 'bin\config.bin/cfgInGameUI/MPTable.shadow
as well as
Error compiling pixel shader PSSpecularAlph:o
I can run Arma2 but not Combined Ops or OA alone. I also removed the addons and tried to run. Nada.

Game settings are on high.
PC set up
i7 core 2600K not OC'ed
8GB RAM
(2) Nvidia GTX 460 in SLI

Any help would be great.
Thanks

Well, you were able to start OA at least a few times, thats what you posted above.
So, you can run both games but as far as we know now not as CO.

Where did you buy the game from? Maybe your combining them wrong.

Do not add addons/mods to your game till you got it working.

Hehe, You have the exact same system setup as me, Well except that I have only one GTX 460.

I think I used to get this error when using a mod launcher with the steam version of both games. Like foxhound said, where did you buy the game from? If it was steam, you can right click Operation arrowhead and select "launch combined operations", you can also use steam to add the mods to your command line, Instead of using a launcher.

Also mods don't go into your "my docs" folder. They go in your main Arma 2 directory. e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2

As of ArmA 2 1.05 they can go in your My Documents folder. This is so that you can use and update mods without all the nightmare nonsense involved in having them under Program Files and Windows constantly demanding admin rights to do anything.

Thanks for the help.
I picked up the retail at Fryes (local elec store).
When I was attempting to play and troubleshoot last night, I patched the game and it fixed the errors. But now when I play and try to play around in the showcase area or some of the scenarios it tells me that the content (ie Zagrabad) has been deleted.

So now back to the drawing board....

Added 6 hours 20 minutes later:

Fixed again. Another reinstall did the trick.
About to try it with CBA and ACE2.....
Fingers crossed.
