THIS DOES NOT PERTAIN TO ANY SIX UPDATER MODS (ACE, ACEX ect.)
Okay boys and girls I have figured out how to get around the annoyance you may have encountered when a MOD doesn't load as planned. You get some message that it can't find a .CFG or .HPP file and then your stuck in an endless loop. Well after doing some research on the BIS online guide, I read that the "@" is what allows a MOD to be used. Okay, not news I know, however I thought to myself "I wonder". So, I opened my Arma2 folder and went to the MOD "bigmike_special_forces_M24" and re-named the folder without the "@". Then I started the game. It took a little longer than normal, I assume the game was looking for what I told it to start up with. Anyways, a few minutes later and I am back in business! I did not have to painfully un-install and then re-install the game plus patches plus mods.
So, here's a quick guide below:
Step 1: Open your "C:/Program Files/Bohemia Interactive/Arma2" folder
Step 2: Locate the troublesome MOD.
Step 3: Re-name the MOD folder so that the "@" is not in the name anymore.
Step 4: Start the game.
Step 5: Profit!
When you get it started up, click on the expansions link and you'll see that the MOD is disabled.
See ya later guys, I really hope this helps.
