hey guys, I was looking around the sec ops mod using eliteness (to try ad alter a few aspects)and im kind of confused as to some parts of the config and where certain parts need to be entered to alter the settings.

I was trying to change the chopper in the SOMs transport support from the uh1 venom to a mh6 little bird

anyway i found this link on the internet when i looked for it when someone had asked kind of the same thing http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?112147-bis_fnc_TransportService the part im struggling with is where abouts i need to enter the classname to set the chopper spawned for transport supports

yeah sorry about that, its just i know a lot of people on this site may not speak english as a primary language, so i was just trying to make it as clear as possible. I think its readable, if a little long winded. I was just wondering if anyone could explain the different parts of the config file to me and how they work. such as which parts need modifying to alter different things. sorry if that doesnt make sense, i think its readable, as in clear english, im just pretty dumb with computer language to be honest, and like i said sorry if its not clear, if you could perhaps clarify it for me, kind of translate it id be very grateful foxhound :) regards poacher87

Nah mate, it is readable indeed, but I got lost somewhere in the middle. Now I know i'm a new guy here, so i shouldn't be the one to give you advices and all, but just:
- add some puctuation
- add some space between the different ideas
- limit yourself to the key ideas

The point being, when i get to the end of your text, i have forgotten the beginning, so in order to try and help you (which i'm not sure i can), i would have to take some notes to clarify that.

yeah good point mate, well basically its more or less the same question as was asked on that link i posted mate, i just kind of need a walkthrough to each line of that config file. with a replacement pack its self explanatory, for model, wound texture, weapon configs etc. but with this transport script i cant find where you need to define the classname for the vehicle used :)

Well about that link you posted, it seems that the vehicle providing transport is one of the parameters of the function, so i guess you just have to define it when calling the function.

yeah im not sure how to do that. however by using a replacement pack i did manage to change the default spawning US army/ USMC units into stalkers british mtp units and weapons by using a replacement config and changing it slightly.

I think a replacement config would work for this too but im not very good at making them :(

the vehicle for the transport support is configured in the mod, you are correct. however i was trying to work out how to change this to a custom vehicle. again any help is appreciated and thank you for replying too :)

Well, you still need to go back and edit your first post if you'd like more help!
Please, just create some paragraphs with a line spaces between and more people will read it.

yeah that could do the trick, ive also seen an addon that lets you order ai controlled helis to pick up and drop off players, going to have a look at that too :), a laced chopper would work though, thanks :)
although id still like to try and work out how to alter default spawning vehicles for use in things like ambient combat and such, and also for longer missions where an efitor placed vehicle could get destroyed :)
