Models look OK, what Im interested in is the config of it.

As an airborne soldier myself I am looking forward to some realistic HALO/HAHO units for ArmA (infact a realistic paratrooper with a round canopy would please me to be honest)

JB : Models look OK, what Im interested in is the config of it.

As you know I am a complete noob with all this editing stuff JB..........but what excactly are you looking forward to in the config? What kind of thing would you like to see "build in"?

I would love to see an all new animation for the free fall position (box or delta positions would be OK)

- The player should have control over the opening height.

- Player should be able to discard rig (primary and reserve) once on the ground.

- For proper use of HAHO/HALO units, the player should be able to control (even if just a little) the direction in which he falls - and I dont just mean down :dozingoff

- maybe a AAD/AOD (automatic activation device/auto opening device) built in so at a preset height the canopy will open anyway

- once canopy is deployed the ability to manouver in the air should be included. Im not expecting full or half brakes and gliding but the ability to control the chute is essential.


I just dont want this to turn out like the VBS1 SASR HALO/HAHO trooper that was for all intents and purposes a complete waste of someones modeling time. Unless some of my above suggestions are included what is the point in a HAHO/HALO unit? they cant run around the game with main and reserve pack strapped to them can they? Gear like that must be created as hidden selections and must be configured to be only seen when free falling. Once on the ground this must no longer be present otherwise it immediately loses authenticity and makes for a poor addon.

I look forward to seeing a great HALO model though so please don't disappoint :)

@JB, good idea. I will talk sometimes with my friend, that is able to scripten. Today I will probably publish even more models. And, I will do certainly anyhow, that if the jumper on the ground is that he files then his equipment, so the parachutes.

Ah, I see what you mean JB. And if this addon turns out to be able to do all that or at least most of it we have a truly great addon here.

Your work looks awesome! I would recommend a couple of things (if they are possible). Is it possible for you to make the HALO gear a kit where any unit can use, instead of making it part of the model? The reason I ask is because I would rather have your Seal units be standalone, so that once they land the HALO kit would be automatically dropped and the units would move out on the mission without carry a parachute tray on their backs.

It just would be nice to see a parachute kit created and it can be used by either having it in a crate or manually give to units by scripts, but not attached to the models. I do like the look of your Seal units and it would be great if you released those without the HALO kit as well. Keep up the great work!

Yes, I know what you mean. Now well, actually, I have not intended thus. I had simply planned my HALO's, with dropping the equipment on the ground, own opening of the parachute and still thus par things... I will consider with the "parachute kit" sometimes.

So, now I have done a small headscarf to the Gunner sometimes:). Still says to me please what you would see with pleasure in the model. No Scripts, but objects.
