Did you follow the included instruction how to install it?

After you have installed it correctly you can right click a pbo file and choose to extract. Than indeed a small black dos screen shows up for a few and the extracted folder will be in the same directory as where the pbo file is.

So if the pbo file you extracted is on your desktop than the extracted folder will be on your desktop as well.

well get a mission and put it in it's own folder. go into that folder and double click the mission so that DOS box pops up. Was there a folder made in the folder that you put the mission in to ?.

All so did you install the program and deleted or moved it ?. As you need to put it some were safe and then install it.

I simply read the instructions and installed it as i was told to do and then tryed to use it, and i expected one of those folders to show up but it didnt. I earlier had notepad, useful for reading mission files, associated to PBO.

I didnt move or reinstalled the program in some way, and i tryed to change the associated program to a compeltlety unrellevant one and then back to cpbo again, but that didnt help.

Should i reinstall the program?

Hmm ok.
I think I had the same issue as you a long time ago.

After downloading and installing extract the cpbo.exe file to your desktop and leave it there.
Now, try again to open (extract) a pbo file.

I never installed it but used the cmd on windows to extract any pbo. then i realized i could make it a bit easier cause i wouldn't need to open anytime the cmd window and move to the right folder.

I created a .bat (using notepad and renaming the txt to bat or saving directly as .bat) file with this inside:
cpbo.exe -e 1.pbo

This extracts any file called 1.pbo to a folder called "1" in the same directory.

So i just have a temporal folder with the cpbo.exe my extract.bat and i place there any file i want to unpbo and rename it to 1.pbo. Just double click on my .bat and the file is extracted in the same folder inside a new called 1. I used that 1.pbo cause it's easier to rename to just a number :D.

I know it's not the best to pbo/unpbo many files but for simple one works like a charm and i don't need to install/uninstall any program nor being deleting any reg entries on windows nor have another option when doing right click.

This maybe sound stupid but i folowed Foxhounds instructions, and then i clicked on the program so it could associate the files, then tryed to open a file. This gave me the option to choose a program to open the file whit, i choose cpbo off course, but nothing happens when i do so! It chooses notepad by itself and then launches the file in notepad wich then chrash.

Ill try to reinstall cpbo, and if that dont work ill try Bigs version of solving this

When you install the program you don't have to selcet a program to open with.
you have to do a right click on a pbo or any folder and in the menu with Open, Open with, Send, Copy, Rename, .... it will show also an option to use cpbo i guess.

I'm not sure but i think it was something like that.

I didnt see this post earlier, but it gives me an option to pack files, not unpack them. But its indeed an exelent tool for packing its own folder into a 100% hacker safe file ;) lol

yes i did select a pbo, the other files gave me the option to make a pbo of it, but the pbo only gave me the ordinary windows once. But i choosed a cpbo as the program to open it whit here (as an alternative to associate it direct whit cpbo, wich i tryed first) and this put me in the situation i describes in the first post.

Im trying ur other suggestion now, ill make a post about it in a few minutes

I have made a temporary folder now, containing the a file called 1.pbo and the bat file u described to me, name extract.bat. I click the .bat but i only gets a DOS window for a short time( this looks familiar lol)

shall i make a file called pbo.exe too, what shall it in that case contain?
