Hi all.
I want to hire a server for Arma 2:CO for my group in Spain. I'd like to give me opinion on this: https://www.onlygameservers.com/cart.php
Greetings.

I think that is a pretty good, for a 64 slot server is $48.39? Not bad at all, but depends if it runs good.

# mariocornetto : Nothing?

Have you done your own research other than relying on others? For example search with google for reviews?

Yes, I have searched google reviews, I looked facebook, twitter, steam and the website of the company looking for anything before posting here, and nothing.
I opened this topic because I wanted to know if it is more profitable a dedicated server or a server by slots.
I have a group of 15-20 members and i dont know what i need.
Thanks for posting and greetings.

dedicated server = yours, you can do with it what you want and you are not limitted (except by the hardware and your own configuration skills). More powerfull than a slot server as you get all the server specs just for yourself. Expensive.

slot server = Limitted. Good if you do not want to hassle with settings and/or configure a server yourself. The host sets things up and your start playing. You depend on the settings the host set your server to though. Cheap.

If you never managed a server and do not have anyone close to you who can do it for you (and actually knows what he is doing) just go for a slot server. That way you can start playing as soon as possible.
Just do not buy it for many months, even when they give you a cheaper price. First go for the full monthly price, see if you like it and if after a few months of use you are sure this is what you want/need buy it for a longer period (cheaper).
If you do not like the server you can just cancell it and not stuck to it for xx months.

Read the terms of service before buying!! Many server hosts have weird rules so better know what those rules are!

Thank you very much for responding.
I just want a server to play with ACE and ACRE, change missions, add mods, have TS3 and work correctly with approximately 20 people.

That is what I said, if you just want to play asap with mods just get slot server. I can not say if this company is any good. Just try them for one month.

As Fox said a dedicated server is a lot of work especially with Arma. If you've never administered a Windows server before OR never setup an Arma server then go with slot server.

For your slotted server, you will need to upload any ACE or other mod updates using FTP from your computer. The game company MAY have mods already available but most don't which means (for ACE) you have a lot of uploading to do.

Usually you can get a TS3 server through the same provider for cheap. Be advised if you are using ACRE and teamspeak you may have to get the provider to change a few settings in Teamspeak if you have > 12-15 players connected... can't remember the setting at the moment but it controls the rate at which TS will accept input.. the default setting and ACRE don't work well together (lots of clients muting/unmuting, etc at the same time).

Bless you my son.

Do I need to add the client's mods to the server? Like JSRS, Blastcore_FX, Jayarma2lib ...

It's the first time I heard that about setting TS3 and ACRE. I do not know how to start.

Thanks for your reply, greetings.

No for client-side mods all you need is the .bikey file for the mod in the server's Keys folder. For ACRE the server needs to be running both ACRE and jayarma2lib_new (as well as clients).

For the TS3 setting with ACRE:
