Hello, everybody!

When I got Arma3, I just missed Russians very much! ;-))) So I would like to present a small addon of a Russian soldier armed with an AK-107. The work is to be continued of course... I'm working on a futuristic version of AK, so stay tuned! :-))

You will find it the editor under Independent -> Russian.
Classes listed in the readme.txt file.

Download Addon (~45Mb)

Nice. Just came back to say, you did a great job with the sights. Usually people who make ak's, BI included, always have the front post up too high.

Thank you! Actually, Armed Assault AK-74 sights bothered me enough to start making my own addons. ;-)))

Hey sudden that looks really good . I was wondering what do you use to create your mods . Is it something easily downloaded or is it a program I would have to buy somewhere . Thanks for the help and can't wait to see more of your work on these Russian skins .

You realize the updated futuristic AK has already been made? It's called the AK12.

It's sexy in that Russian way, that it is really ugly, but because it is so ugly it is sexy.

First off, nicely done. Great start and the unit and weapon look fantastic. Just a couple problems. 1. Attachments couldn't be placed on weapon. I'm not super concerned with that because I'm one of those weirdos that like russian weapons plain and dry. 2. Couldn't take off the Russian Uniform, which sucks because putting a russian uni on other factions makes me happy. Really these are just minor things. Other than that, awesome job and keep up the good work! :)

Dude, you need to publish this to the 'downloads' section of this site so more people can see it!

Also, a few bugs. First off, attachments don't work. If you put an attachment on, it doesn't show up on your weapon, and doesn't work properly either. Thankfully this is easily remedied, reference here. Secondly, the unit's base clothing seems to be based on the model, ala Arma 2, instead of having the clothes as it's own item. I'm sure it's not easy but it would be cool to have the clothes be the actual clothes item somewhere down the line. Regardless, great mod, love the irons!

Thank you! :-)
I only used BI tools, and GIMP.

Yes, I do, thank you. It's not futuristic it's just modern, but yeah it's sexy. ;-)

Thanks for the feedback, mate! I'm working on some attachments and on the uniform issue. :-)

http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?m=add&c=arma3_files_addons_weapons

That link will send you to the submission page for the Arma 3 weapons section.

Basically, all you have to do to publish a mod is to go to the section where you want the mod to be posted, and on the top left you'll see a hyperlink that says 'submit a new entry'. Easy peasy.

FYI the attachments DO work when used but they are just invisible, e.g. I placed a silencer on my gun I couldn't see it but my gun was silent, put RCO on the gun couldn't see it but with right click it went into a scoped view, however with the holo and red dot the image goes inside of the gun but obviously the others have linked you to a forum to get those attachments working better :) Other issues like the uniform I am in agreement with! I'm assuming you created it by making it a skin for the soldier ala the arma 2 method, without knowing about modding Arma myself is it possible to take out the body parts of your model and then use the remaining uniform set pieces with the existing new modular uniform?

But generally I am impressed so keep up the good work chap!

It's not in production, ipso facto, future. Futuristic. It's not modern till it is implemented. ;-)

And if it took them this long to go from AK74M to AK12, then I doubt they will have replaced it with something else by 2035.

We can say Russians actually use the AK107 if that's what you're into though.
