UPDATES

12.10.13 |

- New trailer released!

12.08.13 |

12.05.13 |
Motivation is the chance to win $650,000 USD. So expect Radiation to be the absolute best quality
project one can make.

11.17.13 |

Note:
Ok so my method for this project is to "walk" and not "run" with it.
Ive been working on a bunch of little side projects so i can learn coding
much better. While Radiation will ultimately be my main project, please excuse
the side work as i dont like to have down time. And lately Radiation has been
giving me a headache with some issues that DayZ had. The ArmA engine can only do
so much with a large project like this, especially with keeping to a "mission" format
rather than a mod.

I will be starting to post a lot more to the help section of Armaholic soon. Right now im
trying to learn as much as i can on my own.

Actual Update:
- I am live streaming my work, either radiation or other projects and such.
I prefer using a streaming method so that i can get instant feedback from
the people to which i hope i recieve! Your feedback has really motivated me
and ultimately will make the final product better than what i could've originaly
imagined :]

10.29.13 |
-NEW W.I.P. VIDEO BY ....SOON
- This will be showcasing a very small part of the environment

-New plans to release a "Tech Demo" on Steam Workshop by Late November
- Tech Demo will allow players to explore certain areas of the map
-Tech Demo will NOT include any game-play mechanics. This will just be for early testing across different machines

10.2.13 -(Announced)|
-Everything is WIP
-Taking suggestions/ideas from comments

Planned Ideas (so far):
    - An Immersive Environment
    - Full and Dynamic Story
    - Many Side Missions
    - Many Random Events
    - 100+ lootable items (not including vanilla Arma3 items)
    - Gameplay suited for different player styles
-4 Factions: Survivors, Looters, Wanderers, and Raiders (details soon)
-Player location,stats,skills,buffs,de-buffs -> saves and upgrades
    -Modular building system(Not confirmed...yet)
-NO NEW-LIFE AT DEATH -> Respawn at nearest faction base without backpack and primary weapon <-

Suggested Ideas:
(Comment below what you want to see, and we'll list the best ideas)

{HoD}Ferocious :
-Base defenses w/ type of health meter that can be replenished
    -People to "care" for
    -More food items

Release|
TBA

this is exactly what wasteland needs. I stopped playing it because I always felt like there needs to be quests or some central mission; things besides myself to sink money, food, water and fuel into. Say for example you had a family(ies) and they needed food, and water every so often. Maybe you could also script it so their "base" defenses are hooked up to a fuel gauge and every so often a player would need to replenish it. So wasteland would be about protecting those families or whatever.

It really comes down to creating reasons for doing things.

I would also love to see a way to get food from animals.

EXACTLY MY REASON FOR DOING THIS:
A big part of the "Immersive environment" we wish to create comes down to giving the player a responsibility for doing certain actions or to even give the player a reason to be there on Altis. "Why am i here?" "Why did i just spawn in a random town?" "Why are these people shooting me?"

At the very start of the game, you will spawn in a "base" or refugee camp that you can choose to leave behind or protect. There will be several of these around, some friendly and not so friendly ones. Based on player actions, you will be accepted into one or more of these that will unlock more missions.

Maybe we will include ways where players can attack or trade with different camps as you said? :]

And as for animals and food, unless we release a mod version, the only things available are fish, snakes, and rabbits but we'll see!

I highly support this, and look forward to it! Much like you guys, I find wasteland to be rather bland. I mean yea its cool for a while. Until you've done the same handful of missions 900 times over. As difficult as it may be, wasteland needs variety which can most definitely be accomplished through dedication and persistence. We've got so many waste land copy cats out there who copy wasteland, add in a minor feature hear or there and then call it brand new, not to mention after that, its now "theirs". But what wasteland needs is something revolutionary. And if your imagination is as vivid as the potential for what you're pursuing has to offer, I wouldn't even call it wasteland. Make it your own, with fewer wasteland features and make the game mode unique. Wasteland, Day-Z and all those other popular game modes all started with an idea! Go get em!

You might be interested to know that this is going to be completely built from scratch using no resources from Wasteland :D

And currently calling it a "wasteland" game is just so people can relate to the project. But eventually well drop that and hopefully "Radiation" can stand as its own name!

YES! This mod is the hero arma 3 deserves and the one it needs right now.

Also, if you need any kind of help like voice acting or scripts or any kind of help just shoot me a PM.

Hello maxjoiner i was wondering if you could also add zombies for this gamemode because i always wanted to see zombies in wasteland.... well i dunno if you gonna do that but its just a suggestion that i would like to see happen, and if you do so, make two mission files also one with zombies and one without zombies for those who dont like zombies. Well im pretty sure you know what you're doing so yea good luck with creation with this :)
