My god. I'll try that asap and see what happens. But something tells me already it will happen here too.

But to be honest, after all these years with the !splendid Bohemians, everything is possible.

Everything is cool Wolle Problem was on my side: I removed the ACR DLC and did a fresh Install of it, but it remained bugged as hell so I removed it completely. I hope that CWR doesn't need ACR otherwise I have to reinstall it. In any case I've solved the problem for the time being and moreover it wasn't anything specifically relating to CWR MOD, I'm having a blast creating some fixed wing combat missions. After years of practice my flight skills improved quite a lot. I still suck in choppers though :-[ . . .especially my skills in crashing during landing has no match. I swear nobody can beat me in that :-D LOL
cheers

Hi everyone .
Thanks for making this amazing mod .
I have no problem running cwr2 ( Demos and campaign are all fine ) but for some reason cant find the right place for the British armed forces expansion.

Is it possible to play the main campaign with one of the non US factions you have produced - or are they really meant for multiplayer...

PS . Lovin it :)

You can always unpbo campaign file, change in all missions Us soldiers and vehicles to British stuff. Later you put this reworked campaign in campaigns folder.

If you want to play missions with British forces check first post in this thread, there you find links for my mission pack, Sander's mission pack (over 200 missioos, many of them are for Baf), there is also big campaign (mission pack) ULOTC.

Not good, but added to the list now.

@nettrucker
Forgot to reply but I also have the same problem with the planes. They're out of fuel as soon as you reload the mission...
And nope, neither PMC nor ACR Expansion should be required for CWR2. BAF is required for the UK Expansion, mainly for the spoken language. If someone runs into a PMC/ACR requirement, please let me know and I remove it asap. :-)

@Horse
As you've been told already, you can't change the Faction in the campaigns without editing them on your own. That's because back then when I started the conversion process there was no BAF Expansion, not even planned. And of course because I tried to keep the campaign as close to the original as possible. But who knows, maybe one day I make a spin-off of the original campaign with all our many Expansions. ;-)

Hi Wolle

I have solved the problems with the planes I had. It might have been a mirage or coincidence. There are 2 fly missions in the SP pack and I checked both playing them various times and didn't run into troubles. I'm at a good point with the SP pack it's going to be around 17-18 missions something like that. 4 missions still to go. Doing some sound editing and some test runs. I had a good pace in my holidays now I started working which slows down progress. I'm just having incredible fun in the editor.
cheers

Hi Tom

yeah the pack has grown big. And it has been a lot of work and there's still work to do. I need to find a couple of solutions I've got some ideas but I need to test them first. I hope it's going to work. Moreover I've done the editing this time on my good computer. It plays perfectly smooth on my I7 3.5 ghz not overclocked Nvidia GTX 570 Running Arma form an SSD. I have a perfect smooth game play experience. And it is a different playing experience compared to my dual core. Large scale missions on a weak computer is different due to missing processing power. The AI is rather unresponsive. Instead with the I7 it's a blast. Units are responsive as hell. They shoot from buildings through windows as soon as they spot an enemy. It's amazing. I had also my Wow moments sometimes where the AI actually did a great job. Yeah I'm talking about the vanilla AI. And I think by myself why can't the AI be always like this. Naturally they are still doing all kind of dumb shit but hey I don't believe that they can program an AI which reacts actually like a real human would do. I mean humans do all kinds of dumb shit too. %)

In any case playing ArmA on a powerful computer changes the fun factor. Furthermore I'm not running maxed everything. I don't mind graphics it's about the gameplay for me. I witnessed whining about the clunky movement over all these years. I personally never had an issue with movement since OFP times. Or the action menu. It seems that people are nowadays incapable of remembering 3 digit numbers to use the action menu and issue orders. I'm doing a lot of mission where the player isn't in command because I read so many times searching for mission but I don't like to command. The AI can be used quite efficiently if you give them the right orders. When I'm in charge I concentrate myself more on commanding the AI rather than participating in the battle. I micro manage the AI the same as a teamleader would issue orders to his team members. The play style is different to me. At least I play ArmA like this and I believe that a lot of other members do the same. In any case it's just a game for having fun.

Notwithstanding all these years the game hasn't lost his fascination to me, to the contrary, playing now is a lot more fun for me. ArmA 2 has been released what in 2009 and I still have to discover and check out things the community has released. So many beautiful toys and then there is the CWR mod. I haven't fired up ArmA without CWR for month now. All factions included. I still haven' used all assets available. All the vehicles. I tried as much as possible to use factions in the missions. Although being an OPFOR mission pack the player will fight different CWR factions to show all the beauty of this MOD.

As per the missions I tried to create diverse missions somehow I hope I succeeded.

There are:

-2 flying mission Fixed wing.
-1 racing mission where you have to catch a traitor which has an advantage on you.
-1 Halo jump and
-1 para-drop mission.
-1 mission where the player is driving a boat during the clearing of a bay on Poseidon.
-1 mission where you have to evac Kolgujev within 30 minutes to catch the last chopper out.
-1 beach assault.
- quite a few Naval landings in amphibious vehicles.
- Some combined arms operations.
- A couple of defense missions.
- a stealth mission to infiltrate a supply depot to blow shit up.

After so many years I doubt that there's anything which hasn't been done in ArmA or OFP for that matter. LOL :-D
Still lacking some tanker and chopper missions.

Moreover some serious testing is needed as well. If anyone would like to test them as well before release drop me a line. I will test them myself before release but in case someone is willing to give some feedback it would be much appreciated.
That's it for now.
@ Wolle
if you want to send me the mission at least I could confirm to you if I experience the same.
cheers

For some of you this is old news, but I finally decided to make this public.

Since there's no one left from the old team, or those who are still there became inactive since almost a year, I decided to make CWR² my personal Mod. Like my "colleague" Vilas I will continue work on the Mod alone, with only help from externals when I need them.

Since I have only basic knowledge of modelling, scripts and texture the process of adding features or fixing problems might take longer. But working alone has a lot of advantages too since I can do what I want and without discussing every little detail for hours. In the past days I added quite a lot of things I always wanted to do or changed stuff that was bothering me since years.
Some examples of what will be in the next big update:

* More editor groups
* More weapons and vehicles
* All sounds are in wss format
* A lot of small config changes, like M1 gunner able to turn out
* Additional textures for vehicles
Eventually I will post a link to the active changelog later.

No, there won't be tons of new tanks or planes. Simply because I have not the necessary knowledge nor time to add anything complicated. If I add something, then it has to be done already so I just have to make minor edits in the model or configs. I also will not turn CWR² into something super-realistic. The initial goal remains for all times: Recreate what BI did when they were not "splendid" (which they are not of course). :-)

Eventually I see if CWR² and P85 somehow can be "married" so you can use the great stuff from vilas together with CWR². At least using P85 magazines in CWR² weapons is on my TODO-List. I'm also still looking for a light attack helicopter the FIA can use.

So CWR² is not dead. While I obviously lost all interest in mission editing, I still try to keep the Mod alive as long as there are people around playing it.
My long term plan is to release v1.02 next when all changes are done and tested. Then I will update and release the Expansions one by one when the mess inside them is sorted. When all this is done, I'm maybe open for new Expansion ideas.

If you have bugs to fix, suggestions or wishes for the next big update, share them with me as this might be your last chance. Either by private message here or by mail: cwrmod[at]gmail[dot]com. Do not clutter this thread with that! Also do not use the bugtracker at dev-heaven for this as I only check it every couple of weeks.

Hi Wolle
that's good news. For being honest I haven't found much things which don't work as supposed, so far. So therefore good job and yeah you probably know better then anybody else which areas might still be improved. In case I find bugs I gonna give some feedback of course. Thanks for keeping CWR alive.
cheers

An old OFP favorite, the Operation Mercury campaign by King Nothing, has been ported to Arma II by SHJ-Studio and will be available soon. The campaign focuses on SpecOps and requires CWR2 1.01+. I highly recommend this campaign, as the missions are of very high quality, and provide original, diverse, and immersive gameplay elements. Included are 16 missions and 21 fantastic cutscenes.

I have a number of TOE tables depicting Soviet airborne division and its branches (up to squads and firearms or each soldier). May post them if needed.
