Im not sure how to change the Group name, i.e. Alpha 3-3, Bravo 1-2...

But If you want to change the name of the unit, for example from Civilian to something else, like Civ 2, then you need to add it to the Description section in the unit in the editor. (Open up the unit on the editor and type what you want it to be displayed as in the description). I use it on my missions to change names such as:

Rifleman -> ALPHA 1 : Rifleman
Squad Leader -> BRAVO 1 : Section Leader

Hope this helps!

There is a way to change the group name in the MP lobby.

In the editor, in the group leader's menu, in "function description" you can use the syntax <unit_fuction>@<lobby_group_name> for example -> Officer@Hammerhead will appear in MP Lobby like the unit is "Officer" in the Group "Hammerhead". The rest of the units of that group can just be "function descripted" as their unit_function, because the group name will inherit from the group leader.

I spent much time to find this, so I hope it will help you.
