Mod Info:
Aussie announced he is working with some others on a 1600Km2 island of Australia in the BI forums.
Two members are working on Addons, one on Object placement and one is starting on proper Sat and Mask creation.

Aussie : Its rather hard to explain how big it is until you fly over it approx 1600Km2.

Were gathering textures and images now to start the sat file. This will take up a lot of time.

Yes, the bridge sure is an excellent piece of work by those guys. I hope we will see some more of those excellent objects on the map.

After a long while of silence regarding this project Aussie has released some new information and screenshots in the BI forums.

    - Texture Layer size: 40x40 Meters
    - Object count: 276,000
    - 6 Major Airports and 9 smaller grassy/desert airstrips
    - Over 500Km roads
I experimented for many weeks until I found the above combination gave me stabilty and very good FPS at increased View Distance. The pics in the last post were taken with approx 6000 VD
Orignally I used 4096 by 10 Meter cells but encountered the dreaded V3 Object bug.
Lots of new addons and custom sounds but I dont want to give too much away.

I like the jungle areas alot! But the trees look like they have crappy textures. :(

Aussie has again released some new information and screenshots in the BI forums.

All the major Runways have been built by different members of the team so theres heaps of variety in Size and Shape.
Still along way to go and alot of trees and shaping to do.
Longest river is approx 8-10Kms long.
I've added some of Gnats ships to show the large ports that are in Sydney. All the major capitals have large ports.
We have some new massive sky scrapers that are currently being textured and I'll put some pics up once there on the island.

:eek This looks amazing, our new playground :D, pity theres no Jumbo Jets or commercial type jets in ArmA :( This could be the new place to put SV/SL :O
