Hi all, my first post here but i've been ghosting for quite a few months now ;)
I'm wondering if someone can point me in the right direction with this, its starting to frustrate me a little lol
I've hosted servers before for many other games so i have the knowledge - I've done a little Arma 3 modding and mission editing (very little) but i understand the basic concepts, but this is the first arma server i've managed
I have just rented an Arma 3 Dedicated server (8slots) for us with my squad with the intention of running Coop Missions on there.
The problem is i can't see to get any Custom Coop Missions (from steam workshop) to load on the server.
Heres what i do:
1. Download the mission via steamworkshop, loaded it into arma 3 and exited
2. Navigate to:\Documents\Arma 3\Saved\steamMPMission and copy the missions folder to my server via FTP (/arma3/MPMissions)
-----------------------
3. Launch A3 and connect to the server
4. Tell the server i am admin: #login [adminpassword]
5. Ask the server to display available missions: #missions
6. Select the downloaded mission, set the difficulty etc and click Restart/Continue
7. I'm then taken to the lobby for the default BI mission???
Its strange because the mission displayed correctly in the mission list, it shows who created it and the description etc but it just won't load
I've tried with 3-4 different coop missions, all from steamworkshop->>(is this the problem!?)
No, you should be able to run a Steam mission just as fine as any other mission.
If the mission works locally but not on the server I can only advice you to make 100% sure there are no addons required. Maybe you have those addons installed locally and forgot about it?
Open the mission.sqm to see if the mission requires additional content.
Ok, I really did not know that.
So, if you have say 1000 missions on your server you have to add each of them to the server.cfg? Something must have changed since I last ran a server (few years ago)
