Ive been working on a bolt-action rifle addon for Arma 3 for the past few weeks and have finished most of the requirements for it to work. Now what I have left to do is touch up on the model and textures, and perhaps fine tune some stuff in the config file.
However, I would also like to add a bolt-action animation to it, one similar to those featured in some of the Arma 2 mods like Hell in the Pacfic and Invasion 1944. In those mods youll notice that most if not all of the bolt action rifles have a bolt that moves back after a shot is fired, and I would like to add the same animation to my rifle. So if anyone has any information or a guide on how to do that, or perhaps some files of a rifle with this animation which they could share, it would be really helpful
Thanks and please let me know if you know anything about how to add an animation like the one ive explained
you can do 3 tings:
-make the rifle dependent on I44 or Hell_P and point your animation towards the existing one: anim = "I44bold";
-ask permission to use the anim stand alone and put the anim in your mod and then link it true the config
-make a new animation yourself that can do this
Have you asked one of the teams for support on this? If you open up the mod maybe you can find some information on how this is done and then go from there? What does your config look like and what have you tried before?
Yea I've looked through the I44 pbos so far and have found about 10 .rtm animations which I think might contain the proper animation, but I've never worked with animations before so I don't know what to do with them. Can i import them straight to Oxygen 2?
Ill try to add the animation independently so that i44 isnt a requirement to run the mod and Id atleast want to start with trying to use someone else's animation since i've never animated myself
Yea i sent a message to one team who I saw also have the animation but i think ill send another message to the i44 team also.
So far, my config just contains the standard Arma 3 information which allows me to shoot and reload with it. It was modelled after a m16 config file which had no animations as far as I am aware
