heya *DRINK*

I was not able to find another thread/sticky fitting - sorry if I missed one.

My inquery is about this news item: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=20106

I made a new news on purpose as AiA SA is NOT the same as the old AiA version.
Both version exist next to each other and have to remain separate.

So please separate the news and content pages for them. Thanks a lot!

You yourself linked to the BI forums topic of the old version in the page you submitted. I work with the info provided, if the info is incorrect our news will also be incorrect.
You linked to this topic: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?174016-All-in-Arma-Standalone-(AiA-SA)-A1-A2-OA-content-in-A3

I have updated the news and the downloadpage with the info provided in the first post of that topic, including the patch info which was released today. I assume that the news page and the downloadpage of that specific content are correct?
If not post here all the corrections you want on the pages:
News: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=20106
Downloadpage: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=20107

As for the news and the different release you wanted....please re-submit the news with the correct info so I can add that new release as well.

The said link is correct - its AiA SA:
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?174016-All-in-Arma-Standalone-(AiA-SA)-A1-A2-OA-content-in-A3

The old AiA version is:
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?152706-All-in-Arma-(AiA)-TKOH-OA-A2-A1-merge-with-A3

> Kju released an updated version of the All in Arma (AiA) project on the BI forums.
This is a bit confusing as it refers to the old version.

My main concerns are:
1) It would be nice if armaholic could have news and pages for both versions
2) It would be useful if the old comments and ratings remain with the old AiA version

The news itself, aside from the above small correction is fine.
For the content page I will provide some suggestions tomorrow.

Thanks for response and info so far! *DRINK*

Ah right, you are correct I see the difference now.
Will take care of it in the coming days fixing the original and adding the new.

Thank you Foxhound *THUMBS UP*

Sent in an updated news with little adjustments.

As for the content page:
I think we need to find a compromise here.
The problem I see is most of the information is found in the BI thread, and some additional info in the wiki.
Right now the site only has little info and the external download links.
So either all the info is merged into the site, or it remains basic and should forward to the BI thread without having download links.

Personally I'd prefer the latter until it becomes possible at armaholic for authors to adjust their content pages.
This is both for the amount of effort on your side and the frequency the info gets updated by me in the BI forum and wiki.

With my work for sixnetworks I came to realize and appreciate the insane amount of effort you and your team are doing here!

All pages released, I copied all info from the BI topic as well as the dev website. Please go over them and let me know!

Ohh btw, I saw your FAQ where you wrote you do not know why there is no Armaholic mirror and where you state its to big.
Nope, not the case at all, the new file server I bought will have no issue with your releases at all. I simply chose to not mirror for obvious reasons which i wont write in public.

Thank you :)

I am unable to find the news and page for the old AiA version though,
and comments are still assigned to the AiA SA page.
Do you have a history of these pages or do they have to be redone?

Is there a specific reason you did not add the patreon/donation request?
Giving you provide the direct download links, it is likely that people won't become aware of it.

I am not sure which reason you allude to armaholic not hosting these.
If you think I should know, please tell me via PM.
I have removed the armaholic question from the FAQ regardless.

You edited the original AiA newspage and made it for the AiA SA release so I figured the AiA is no longer needed (you do not support it anymore anyway, right?). So I also changed the AiA downloadpage to be the AiA SA downloadpage.

I hardly ever add this donating stuff to our pages. I havent made up my mind yet if I will start doing that by default or not. To much begging is going on currently (no disrespect meant to author who very much deserve support!), currently in my opinion to many people misuse it where I even know people to hold back releases cause they want donations first....Its heading into a direction I personally do not feel comfortable with. But like I said, I am still thinking about it if/how/when we will add that to our pages too.

(please note, in the past I was even forbidden by BI to add that to our pages. But like so many things we are forbidden a lot by them all this time which the rest of the world can do without issues... and does...).

Ref: Donations - fair enough.

Ref: BI - became aware of this with sixnetworks too..

In regards to the AiA news and pages - I guess it will be okay to keep it like this now.
If I will release yet another update for the old AiA (merge) version, I will provide you with a new news and content page.

Thanks again for your cooperation and the information! *DRINK*

Ok, since you are ok with having the AiA pages as the AiA SA pages now I will remove all the old comments.

Once you have something to share with the AiA release submit new pages ;-)
