The Dark Ones
The year is 2036, the 3rd world war has left Altis in ruins, half of the population live in rich societies and cities, while the rest live in poor towns and villages. While the rich people are left rebuilding parts of the country, countless rumors have spread across the poor parts of Altis, some of which contain paranormal sightings and mysterious deaths.
The players take the role of a group of paranormal investigators who have to follow what the Zeus tells them to do, circling the island and investigating paranormal occurances on Altis. The Zeus will have everything he needs to set up his very own "Creepypasta" story in-game, while the players have to play along.
The idea behind it is basically for there to be a game master who controls all the occurences and tries to basically create a coherent story (unlike this sentence) as the players play. Also, regarding ACE, the mod that is required here.
ACE has its own interaction menu accessed from the "windows" key and "alt+windows" for a self interaction key. This interaction menu allows you to use all the different features within ACE such as the advanced medical system, HuntIR grenades, Maplights, etc.
To summarize, "The Dark Ones" is more of a template on which a game master (zeus) tries to create a coherent story for the players to play in. It might seem a bit odd at first, but it can be quite entertaining.
The game will be split into 2 teams, The Hunters and The Nomads:
12 player co-op (Not including Zeus).
Mix of PvE and PvP
Loot system, where you will be able to steal items from parked cars and houses, or find loot in abandoned places.
Fully populated towns and cities.
NPCs to interact with, mostly controlled by zeus.
Quests and Missions.
MANY secrets to uncover.
Custom music by Kevin MacLeod, myuuji, and from various other games/movies.
Scary monsters and creatures.
Some buildings have furniture, eventually most buildings will have furniture.
Men In Black agents to try and stop you from discovering the truth.
Truly free to do WHATEVER you want, use your imagination, and ROLEPLAY!
Investigate paranormal activity, crack cases, explore hidden areas, or even come face to face with something out of this world.....
- THE NOMADS (OPFOR):
The Nomads used to be the everyday loyal citizen of altis. But when all the "dark presence" news and all the murders around altis happened, they got tired of their useless government and took things into their own hands. This group is still unknown to us. What is known is that they want to sabotage anyone who tries to find out about the dark pressence. Why? We dont know. Our main guess is that they dont want to change anything in the current state, they maybe are afraid things will turn to worse.
- THE HUNTERS (BLUFOR):
The Hunters are the official organization which was formed on Altis to control the "dark presence", unfortunatly due to harsh governament conditions on Altis, the group was forced to disband in 2025. Later in 2036 a group of former members decided to unofficially bring back the group, and fight the dark presence.
Extract the .pbo file(s) to your Steam/SteamApps/common/ArmA 3/MPMissions folder.
- Hunger and thirst system, to add some more realism.
- Money system
- More voice actors, if everyone sounds the same, then its creepy as hell!
- More locations, starting to expand to the western side of Altis.
- More eastereggs.
- More paranormal beings.
- More furniture in most houses.
- Better civilian AI, so they wouldn't randomly start going prone and occasionally running over each other with cars.
- Add shops to the game.
