How do you get helicopters or should i say build a heliport? I'm a brand new player & i've searched around quite a bit both on youtube (for helpful or instructional type videos) and here in several different forums to no avail. Seems like there is very little information on constructing bases or air units. I did see something about that if you capture an airfield that you may be able to create air units that way. But how about constructing a helipad??? The last couple of days several of my friends & i have been playing the CTI base and at one point the commander was an AI and he constructed a base at our hq where i was able to build a few lil birds & a apache but then the base after a little bit just suddenly "blew up" and i could not figure out how to more or less either take over command & build a base that would give me the capability for heli's (i could build everything "BUT" helis/air units/arty,etc) and when i gave the command back to the ai i thought he would then eventually build another but he never did???
CTI or Warfare as its more commonly called has this build feature yes. This is a module part of the original game that some mission developers has brought to a higher level of playability. Normally you build a base in the editor or look for a template you like and past that in your mission. You could also use the Zeus module that allows you to build and change the base during a game.
What you can also do is pre-built a base and use some scripts to select your vehicle at chosen points. So in the end a lot is possible you just have to be clear about what you want to do exactly and how you would like to make it happen in the mission.
The final question you have are all specific to CTI /warfare mission parameters. Normally when a MHQ is destroyed the game is over since this is the only vehicle that allows you to build new base object like barracks or tank factory. You also need money / buildpoint that you gather after capturing a town etc. This is what the mission is all about! For more information on how to do this please search the web for warfare tutorials.
