I love this game, but the demo performed pretty crap on my system on the CTI mode fps was about 16 tops on low settings and LODS took ages to load, when on the 8 man coop I could have settings on med/high with 30+ fps...

To cut a long story short, does the full retail version of ArmA perform better than the demo? I hope it does because it would be a shame to miss out on such an awesome game.

I didnt try the demo, but what i read is that yes, it runs smoother on retail 505Games version, even on PC's which are running the German or Czech versions.

Yep, I have read the same as well.
505 version seems to run pretty well.

Read this, posted on armedassault.info.

With this new 505 Games/ Digital Bros release, 1.04 version we have began to play with, here, in France and sometimes already in UK, ArmA seems a far better game that it was when it was first release in Czech Republic.
It's a better game that in the Demo version we have played with, here in "western Europe".
On the low end PC we used for our test, the game runs more smoothly, transitions between LODs are progressive, there are less "texture lag" and FPS rate goes up. Up to 30 in a MP game with French MAKO team this night as we where running on sandy dunes in South Saharani.

Stay tuned, we are going to test again on our old rig and perhaps on a better one.

Awesome, I think I'll go get my copy next week :D. I hope they've changed the AI because its like they've got bloody aimbots I got instant killed twice by a guy about 600m away crouched with a AK thats just not possible!

Yeah that would be cool I'll do a few coop games with you. One one thing, does anyone think the damage model for the enemy AI is a bit crap? I've shot enemy troops with a 7.62 round from the M24 many times and its hit their arm or torso and they just keep running and shooting as if nothing happened...a 7.62 round should go straight through body armour vests and would do more that give them a cut on their arm...this needs addressing 7.62 rounds should stop a foot soldier in his tracks if hit not just brush himself down and keep on running...

Yes but it still a kind of game..... so also AI is behavior as a gamenooby.
Also how manny hits you can handle when they hit youre arm???
About that armorvest i dont think you shoot in the game with AP bullets, so be happy you have now a better AI then when you play Joint Operations Coop...... (diffrent engine)

But i have to wait to see how the sniper-weapons working in AA so if i found an answer soon, i will replay this too you here.....
