Speaking of realism i would like to know how many have actually fired a fire arm? realistically speaking!!!
Hmm, lets see... M4, SAW, Beretta M-9, Benelli Super 90, Mossberg 500, AK-47, Barrett M82, Colt 1911, M60, Dragunov clone, M-4, and quite a few others. Then there are my personal weapons... An underfolder Yugo AK, Ruger SP101 .357 Mag, Ruger 10-22, Ruger, Mini-14, Beretta 96. I've fired a few in my day :D
The majority of what Blackhawk fired are all weapons that you will fire in the Infantry on a regular basis. This list includes:
-M16 <--I wouldn't put A1, A2, or A3(rare and not in US service I believe), or A4
-M4 and M4A1 (for you picky types)
-C4 and all that blah, blah, blah
-M24 (I was a Sniper in the Army and I don't give a crap if you don't believe me. I got my Bravo 4.)
-XM107 (now the M107 and a big mistake)
-M14 and M21
-Never the USP(or Mk23 that is generally used by SOCOM but you can go to your local gun store or NRA range and rent one)
-Ma' Deuce (If you have to look that up, you shouldn't criticize anyone else about weapons)
-A variety of Ak's from AKM and AKMR's to AK74's, RPD's, PK's, PKM, RPK and RPK-74
-Played with but never had the balls to fire an RPG-7 (seen one blow up on the operator. It was funny)
-and a variety of other pistols and rifles from my childhood and adult life out of the Army.
To outright say that someone is lying because they didn't say "A2" is pretty ridiculous. Take an infantryman who spends a year in Iraq and he'll have the chance to fire (or get fired at by) a diverse set of weapons from all over the world. The oddest rifle I saw out there was a PSG1. Hmmm.
It's not all that uncommon for Infantry to go do a fam fire with their battalion scouts. Our unit alone was assigned M107's and I know that most of my platoon had the opportunity to fire it. Also, a standard part of Infantry work is breaching a mined wire obstacle. With that you are trained on how to make homemade bangalores using C4 and pickets. You have to remember that the modern US Infantry man is trained to do ONE thing. KILL. They are truly "professional" killers. The rest of the Army is in support of them. So to say that it is ridiculous for even an Infantryman id just ignorant.
I am aware that there are a ton of "posers" out there that ruin it for the few, but when someone says, "Hey, I shot all this crazy awesome stuff!", just say "Ok" and move on. It is not our responsibility to question the integrity of others when the issue of importance is moot. I apologize if this comes off harsh but I have been called a liar by little punk kids before (I'm not implying you are one!) and after over 8 years in the Army as and 11B, that kind of bothers me.
So, now that I have effectively ruined this post, my favorite weapon in Iraq, as a Sniper was an M21.
