Yes and No. I tried it with
Alpinestars ARMA II Launcher.
It give me one or two error messages but it didn't seem to cause me any visible issues. However I did get errors saying that I wasn't running combined ops, but I think that is down to that I'm running the combined ops versions of the ACE mod.
I think you can add ARMA 2 as a mod and launch it as one, to force it to run combined ops. If you are just getting ARMA 2 standalone then it should be fine.
Alternatively you can just right click the game under you game library, click properties, then under general click set launch options. You can then put any of ARMA's start-up parameters into e.g.
-mod=@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_USNavy;@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_SM -nosplash -world=empty
You can also use the
sixupdater, that works pretty well with steam.
