I've read the user performance reports, no compromises, C2D E6700, 2/4 gigs of ram and a 8800 GTX/GTS sound recomended for high quality rendering and playable fps, Arma is a very demanding app! With Vista it might become even more demanding.
The monitor upgrade will remain on hold here it seems... im already checking prices for new parts.

The 505 late release will problably allow BIS to polish it up some more (patch) so the experience will be better when i get my paws on it :love .

@Warhawk, if you are referring to the picture Heatseeker quoted than the sys specs are:
Specs: 3,4 Ghz D CPU - Pentium 4, 2 GB RAM, 7900GTX 1GB RAM

@Heatseeker. When I watch those new videos from Spoock I think the ground looks great. Do you mean the ground textures always look bad or only if you lower specs? Maybe have a screen of ugly ground textures?

@Warhawk - Minimum Armed Assault specs are afaik 2.0 gig cpu, 512 ram and p.s. 2.0 compatible graphics card but the game will run on a very poor frame rate and not look even as good as vbs1 does. I have seen Arma pics in very low settings and its not very nice...

@Fox - From upclose everything looks fabulous and in windowed mode even better, i meant the rocky ground you can see here.
From the distance it looks a bit low rez and discoloured.

The stupidattack movie by Spook is lovely, real war pr0n :D .

edit:

lool, i give up...

URL tags arent working?

Thanks for that reference Heatseeker. I now see what you mean.
Knowing the pic you refered to was taken with a viewdistance of 10 (or was it 9?) km maybe the settings (to make it playable enough to take the screen) used cause this low rez? Just wondering here, I have no idea :).

[EDIT]About your url tags.........they are working, just not with the BI forums url. In html they work, but in bbcode (the forums code you use in posts when adding a pic etc etc to it) it just wont work......dont worry about it :)
Just post it as an link :)

As long as it runs I'll deal with ugly. And ugly is what I will have too.

Corazol at night

Corazol at day time

The following screens were taken with:
amd 2600
palit 6800gs
1gb ram 400MHz

The screens were taken on highest details, I've had about 10-13FPS. I'm playing on normal settings but dunno why i get only 20-25FPS an average
