Quote ArmA2.com :
Bohemia Interactive is pleased to announce the reinforcement of Operation Arrowhead - British Armed Forces are to provide a surge in support of the ongoing coalition deployment in Takistan!
Less than two months after Operation Arrowhead successfully routed the Takistani military regime, NATO coalition forces face a large-scale outbreak of guerilla insurgency. A mechanized force of British troops are about to deploy and embark upon a large-scale counter-insurgency campaign, which will define the future of the coalition presence in Takistan: Operation "Crimson Lance".
Two months after the Allied military victory in Takistan, the new government is restoring the war-torn country. NATO forces assisting in this effort face the threat of insurgency, waged by the remnants of the defeated Takistani army in the mountaineous regions of Takistan. Company team of British paratroopers patrolling the treacherous mountains in Zargabad's vicinity is ordered to battle the amassing guerilla warriors.
The development of the brand new content has demanded engine updates, resulting in unique features and new gameplay options. The fully modelled artillery and mortar strikes and the extension of the engineer class to include new duties - such as vehicle repair and bomb disposal - add a new depth of realism to the most authentic mil-sim available.
Marek Spanel:
"The ongoing enthusiasm and incredible passion of our community continues to inspire and encourage us" said Marek Spanel, Bohemia's CEO, "to that end, we're excited to invite them back to Takistan for another slice of tactical action. This downloadable content is both an answer to their wishes and evidence of our commitment to providing quality post release support and content to the already huge Armaversum."
This brand new faction, with a large number of units, vehicles and models, will redouble the allied efforts in this volatile Central-Asian nation - available as a download at the end of August as 'Arma 2: British Armed Forces'.

Oh my god! I cant wait! Thanks for the heads up Royal-killer
Yeah me too, it will be great. Also for mission editing
what can i say
OHHH yes bout time we had UK troops in this game .... be nice if we have Canadian troops in aswel seening as they are in Afgan.....but hey I`m so getting this.
this is really cool and all but British Armed Forces isn't really my cup of tea. LOL i said tea...get it? but it would be a very good addition to this very good game
Can someone elaborate alittle more on this at the bottom of the features list:
Ability for players to effectively operate and command artillery and mortar units
BIS surprises once again! I can't wait to get this
Excellent
lol... the mod community made better addons.
This addon is just simple, with Inf with new textures and models..
Money machine, 9€ for this units :S.
Check out http://www.rkslstudios.info/ to get better Units.
Or you could simply gather the various pieces of British equipment for free. Actually, unlike the OA release, this one looks to be a pretty good value. With any luck at all, some of the money will trickle down to the 3rd party content developers we all know and love. Well, at least we know them...
Oh come on, at least BIS does what they can to support their games. It's not going to be so bad.
Just look at COD MW2 releasing at $20 old COD4 maps ported to MW2, and nobody have told them nothing.
I agree whit Lt:Ryan, look at http://ffaa.es/ a lot of new units, vehicles, and the best of all, for free, so please, if you make DLC, make it for free, its better for all you will earn more positive votes from the comunity, or, at least, that pack must cost 2€
You know, actually, it's a good question. There's a lot of work in here from 3rd party contributors, some of whom have legal rights to be considered. Is this an end around, or were the folks over at RKSL and others actually involved? Because if it's an end-around, I won't contribute a cent; if it's a cooperative effort, then it's a good deal, considering the amount of time and effort it takes the modelers to do their thing.
DLC will separate the community between those who have it and those who don't. Now there are lots of divisions and it's going to be more and more difficult to find a server and have the same mods running :
A2/A2+ACE/OA/OA+A2/OA+ACE/OA+A2+ACE
And now we add the Brittish addon.... it's going to be worse.
It would have been better idea to add them to Arrowhead and increase the price from 30E to 39E... ?
Screw this i`ve lost interest in BIS games and products ,while the community members spend days and nights making mods, addons, troops etc to give to us for free BIS wants more money for this kind of mod ,i feel sorry to have edited my first comment ,Arma and Arma2 werent even 100% finished according to me ,what they do instead they release a mod and ask for more money buhahahha bye bye BIS![]:->](./images/smilies/diablo.gif)
