![]() J.S.R.S. SoundmodbyLordJarhead Description: J.S.R.S. is a Sound modification. This sounds less exciting at first than it is, doesn't it? Oh, but it is much more than just your typical sound modification. Simply because not only does J.S.R.S. essentially offer toally new sounds for ArmA II, but offers much more in that it also extends the game with new sound-based features in-game which were originally though not possible. The biggest feature is the "Distance script" that allows the mod to address different sound effects at different distances to the player. The scenario: If a shooter is 500 meters away, one extra tuned value sound for this distance will be played. This gives the impression of being far away of that shooter. There are also effects like the "First Person sounds" which giving the impression that the weapon is close to your face by adding mechanical extra sound effects which is only played when the player is playing in the first-person perspective. The same works for vehicles. When sitting as a passenger in an armed vehicle, you can hear the mechanical sounds of the weaponry. The latest addition to the J.S.R.S. Sound modification suite is the all-new "in-room script" which mixes an extra loud echo over the weapon effects when the player is inside a building and is firing his weapon. The effect results in the impression that you really are inside a building. All these new features--plus over 5500 other new sound effects--makes for an entirely new sound experience. Arma 2 is transformed with only a mod in a completely different dimension. Each mission is completely different because of the ubiquitous new impressions. It is made for more aware of risk, opponents recognized by the authentic weapon noises or they can very accurately located due to the distance effects. J.S.R.S. 1.5 brings all the old-known effects and sounds to a whole new level, even compared to previous J.S.R.S. versions of the past. This version is the culmination of J.S.R.S. "Perfection" after a long journey of working on J.S.R.S.. Try it, you will not be disappointed! Optional JSRS 1.4.3 sounds Some of the sounds of the old JSRS 1.4.3 version. Using those can cause some volume differences. Also the distance sounds are made for the JSRS 1.5 original sounds, so after a certain range, the sounds will switch to JSRS 1.5 again. But in FPS and thirdperson you will hear them just fine. To install those, just choose the jsrs_xxx.pbo and bisign you want and drop it in your @JSRS 1.5\AddOns foler and overwrite the existing one. Remember to back up the files you going to overwrite in case you want to switch back to JSRS 1.5 sounds. Optional Project Zero sounds Some of the sounds of the never published mod Project Zero, a side mod of JSRS. Disable Pain and Hurt sounds This is a tweaked config so the soldier hurt and pain sounds are disabled. No more moaning and screaming when being hit. To install those, just choose the pbo and bisign and drop it in your @JSRS 1.5\AddOns foler and overwrite the existing one. Remember to back up the files you going to overwrite in case you want to switch back to JSRS 1.5 sounds. Installation: Important! Before you install this mod, be sure you have deleted all older parts/updates/versions of JSRS! This is really important, because of all the changes. Otherwise you will end up with many issues! It is important to set up 128 Sample in the Audio tions to prevent misfire of the sound. You'll find more information about that in the FAQ. If you want to disable a sound files or effect, ONLY disable the xxxxx_C.pbo and xxxxxx_C.pbo.jsrs15.bisign. The files with the little _c.pbo are the ones with the configs which should be disabled only. The ones without the _c.pbo are the sound containers. Since more configs can use sound files of the same sound folder, never delete the ones without the _c.pbo behind! Also, if you delete a sound, you may get some strange errors since the weapon ranges in normal soundmods are far longer then in JSRS which means you will get extreme overlapping sounds! Its so better to not delete anything at all concerning weapons, on vehicles no problem! I will provide multiple packs for your to choose from later on. I know it sucks, but thats the way it is! As we always recommend use modfolders to separate the custom content from the official game content to prevent problems. For different ways to set up your modfolders and use them please visit our FAQ. When you are using the Steam version you can find a Steam mod installation and activation FAQ here. Included .pbo files: jsrs_*.pbo Author notes: JSRS is a huge mod I've been working on for more than three years--each time growing more improved. I try to offer help wherever I can and always have you--the community--in mind and value your opinions and support. This project definitely takes a lot of hard work and time. Yes, this is my hobby I am passionate about, but so much goes into the project it's almost like a full time job for me. Leisure, which is sacrificed for this is precious, and time is money as we all know. I had received some time ago a message with the request to set up a donation account. After some time and though, I decided to do this. I freely leave it up to each JSRS user themselves, how and to what extent he would like to donate to support my work. There are no obligations to you the user. There are no demands. This was something asked of me and I decided to do it. As always, I am grateful for everyone's support, it helps keep me excited going forward with JSRS knowing how many people look forward to my hard work. But to realize JSRS for Arma 3 it would take a lot more efforts and time, it would also require a lot more equipment that I can not afford at this moment. Therefore, any help would be gratefully appreciated in the highest degree! I thank you very much for your support! Credits & thanks: I have to thank some very special people for the support over the last years! If I forgot somebody, please let me know! Armaholic.com Brigade2010.de DevHeaven.net KellyHereos.eu Thanks to the community, to everyone who is playing with this mod, who have trust in it, who has gave comments or who supported this mod! whats the pbo files called for the explosions
JSRS_Supersonic and JSRS_Supersonic_c ind the @JSRS-E/AddOns folder.

Why, something wrong with them?
Okay is saw this mod today and downloaded it and installed with no problem at all. I got in the game and being me the first thing i did was jump in the A-10 and OH MY UH GAWD BEST A-10 SOUND EVER. I love that you added a burst mode to it. next thing i did was use the simple support module in editor to call in an artillery strike... HOLY SHIT that was awesome. My friend joined my game I made and took an A-10 to Sultansafe where i had set up some enemies and i could hear the destruction the A-10 was causing, even the GAU was audible from that distance. Every time get in a vehicle all the sounds astound me. Now onto the very few cons i have.
1. LAV: i hit Q and i can hear it but once it goes faster then Q speed the engine goes SILENT.
and thats all I've really had a deal with so far. If i find anything else i will be sure to post it here.
Also in the video you have demoing the sound mod, i can hear Generation Kill Radio transmissions in the back ground and i wanted to know what mod that was.
If you mean the Video made by Berliner19 you have to ask him. I have no idea so far^^
Thanks for the comment. For some errorreports i would really like to see them in the forum on the right topic. I'm not often around here and so i could better help you with some stuff.
Anyways: The Lav 25 Sound High-Ext don't work. This error is already known. Maybe an Config-Error.
Thanks anyway for your post ;)
Jarhead
Yes i was referring to Berliners video.
sounds great :), but i think aks are a bit weak sounding they need to have more of a craking sound....but over all i like :)....can you add random radio chatter to vehicels?
will there be an update coming soon? :):):):)
I was using Vop_sound and I thought it is the best sound mod for ArmA 2. But when I have try your sounds Vop_sound became history for me. Good work
Very good. However you forgot to change the sound for the M4 CCO and M4 M203 that the ACR have.
Very Nice. My favourite sound mod :D Only wish more servers allowed it.

For bigpond people
@BeeR 100% agree with you, perfect sound mod M8
i fucking love this sound mod. listening to the gun fire on my big speakers is fantastic. has that real punch i love.
is it possible to compress the sound even more to get more of that crack and punch when the gun fires?
one thing ive noticed though is that if there are too many machine guns firing it distorts and all other sound is cut out.
other then that its nearly perfect.
cant wait for the updates :D
Awesome sound mod man
!! Only 2 things that have caught my attention

1. Quote from A$$Bag: "one thing ive noticed though is that if there are too many machine guns firing it distorts and all other sound is cut out." The same thing happens with me
2. The other thing i noticed is that when you are using the ACE mod and fire up a HUNTIR round there is a very loud explosion in the air. Not sure if this is supposed to happen. It may be ACE's fault but using vanilla sounds it didnt make the noise
Still, great sound mod. I definately wont be going back to vanilla sounds ever again.
AMAZING!!!
After much searching and testing this is my main sound mod for sure. i have switched few minor things but 90% of my sounds are JSRS. its just great everytime i play. i have a minor issue on launch and i would appriciate help from anyone. it says addon 'JSRS_AAVP' requires addon 'CAWeapons.bizon' ?????????? i only have oa standalone and i bet all the responses will be saying thats why but is there anyway to pinpoint what is causing that error and removing it. great sound mod tho. probably the best ive tried
