Raining Lead
by VanhA Description: Here's my 2nd OA mission, however this one needs ArmA 2. Story/background: A US depot was run over by the Takistani forces 2 weeks ago. Now the depot serves as a prison for local freedom fighters. The problem is also that a laptop was left behind which holds the option for contacting AC-130 gunship for ordering strikes. Luckily they have no password for it yet. While we retake the depot we could also use the laptop to get rid of 3 scud launchers located by the Zargabad airport. Your 10 man team will be inserted close the area and from there you shall proceed to the depot and use the laptop to get rid of the scud threat. The area is well defended by the 5th Takistani armored brigade so getting close would be suicide. Features: Installation: Extract the .pbo file(s) to your ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead\MPMissions folder. Notes: If you can't see targets with AC-130 , cycle through the F keys to highlight enemy vehicles ![]() Arma 2 Enable javascript to be able to download from Armaholic please!

Could be a good mission but it'd be nice if mission makers would give equipment appropriate to the mission. It's a shame because I've played other missions by VanhA that are really excellent.
Hehe, lack of proper gear in this case is intentional.
And not because I'm an asshole but to encourage the player to seek out alternatives and improvise.
This mission was mainly done for our server to test the AC-130 script so maybe I was not paying too much attention to other stuff.
We did play it through with given gear though.
;)
ps. You did notice the ammo crate by the tent at beginning?
Indeed, I did. Unfortunately, I was playing it solo and the AI activated the flashlights on their guns which might not have been a real issue...it just distracted me so much. ;)
RE: the AC-130 in your mission, are you using LurchiDerLurch's script? If so, I am curious how you like it. I've been using a stripped down version in my own missions since the full-blown script pack contains so many assets (ogg files, images, etc.) that aren't used in my missions. I love the thing but adding nearly 3MB to a 200KB mission just seems excessive!
Anyhow, thanks for replying to my previous comment. I now understand your rationale for the loadouts but...I'll probably pass on this one for now. That said, your "R&R gone bad" mission is still one of my favorites!
